Difficult Service on LG's 1-yr Manufacturer's Warranty
I bought this dishwasher in June of 2009 and it worked beautifully until April 2010 when it started making a horrible noise and stopped working.

I loved this dishwasher for 9 months. It was super quiet and did a great job on the dishes as long as the rinse aid reservoir was kept full. (Without rinse aid, it did not perform well.) And, it looks really good too!

At first when it broke, I wasn't too concerned because it was still covered under LG's manufacturer's warranty and I assumed the problem would be resolved. I contacted LG and filed the warranty claim. They referred me to a local service provider and I scheduled a service appt. The local service provider did not perform. They no-showed 3 times with no calls. And, I stayed home from work to be there to meet them during their 4 hour time window.

I complained to LG and at first they did nothing about it. They said that this service provider is the only company they work with in the entire...

Worst I have ever owned
Bought 8-1-10. It never has washed a decent load. Always leaves food or drink residue on the items. Many times it leaves a white chalky residue on the items. Items that look clean going in look dirty or streaked coming out. I have used various brands of powder and gel detergent, and 2 brands of rinse aid (Jet Dry). I keep hoping I will find the perfect combination. I am done trying. I just called LG for service, who basically read me the manual on how to use the dishwasher. Then he said to use less detergent. How will using less get the dishes cleaner?? He didn't know. Then he said he would set up a service call, but comes back and says the service rep in our area is on jury duty so they have no one to help me, and gives me the name of an independent service guy. I call him and he said he won't look at it without a service order number from LG, which they did not give me. So now I have to call LG back.
Design flaws: the posts to hold the plates are too close together, so hardly...

Very nice dishwasher
I have had this dishwasher since October of 2010. I was a little leary based on other reviews I have seen on this model.

The reviews I've seen are either very good, or VERY bad. I went ahead and gave it shot. It does a great job of cleaning my dishes and is also VERY quiet. I don't have to prewash my dishes like I did with my old Whirlpool which is a plus.

You'll want to make sure to use a rinse aid EVERY wash, because it will affect the drying. You also do not want to open the dishwasher at all during the drying process, it will throw it off.

Glad I got one of the better ones and not a lemon like I've heard

Extremely quiet dishwasher, but doesn't always get your dishes clean
We bought this dishwasher because the one that the builder included with our house in Florida, another GE model, was too noisy. GE consumer affairs offered to buy back the builder installed unit, and asked that we pay the difference, which was about $200. The major positive about this unit, is that it's so quiet; you'll question whether or not it's actually running. As for cleaning capability; I'd give it a C+, as it doesn't always get the dishes completely cleaned. We called GE and they sent a representative to our house to determine why the dishes weren't always coming out as clean as we would like. I had to endure a 10 minute lecture by the technician, who stated that the reason why the dishes weren't being completely cleaned, was because the water temperature going into the dishwasher was only 118 degrees. He stated that ideally the water temperature should be around 140 degrees. When I mentioned that it would be dangerous to set the hot water heater at this high of a reading, he...

Bosch SHE43RL2UC 300 24" White Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Energy Star

Bosch SHE43RL2UC 300 24
We like our Bosch Dishwasher but it took adjustment.
We bought this model of Bosch but not through Amazon. We found both these reviews very helpful and so wanted to add our own.
Our Sears dishwasher gave out after 7-8 years. We had just had a new Sears refridgerator quit after 2 years and were looking for a different experience than mid level appliances from big box or department stores.
We have had the Bosch SHE43RL2UC for a couple weeks. We really did wonder the first day or two, so the poor review here was interesting. The Bosch is smaller than the Kenmore it replaced, not a lot but enough to notice. The tine placement is challenging with dishes not all from the same set, and the bottom rack floor tines are spaced far enough apart so that glasses tip from not having enough support around the rim.
The positive review was very helpful because it helped us adjust from the differences between Bosch and standard mid level dishwashers. Reading the manual helps, a basic point but one that needs to be made. Seeing the photos...

Extreme disappointment
When the 15-yr old Magic Chef dishwasher (that came with the house when we bought it) died a few weeks ago, it was a welcome change to my kitchen. I had very low demands of a new machine: Clean my dishes the first time around. So when I sent my research-addicted husband on the mission to simply find a new machine, he had a relatively easy task. He was so excited with this Bosch. I want so badly to love it, but after 2 weeks I truly can't stand it. It makes me angry every time I open it. What a waste of money, even my husband is let down. We actually called the store today to find out what we have to do to return it. It is not completely without merit, which is why I gave it a two instead of a one. To be fair, here are the pro's, minor irritants, and finally con's of this machine.

Pro's:
- SUPER QUIET, I mean REALLY quiet. I don't even know it's running half the time, that's how quiet it is.
- Sleek design. The control panel is up top and literally...

Somebody didn't do their homework...
There is another review on this product with some elements presenting a misguided view of this dishwasher. If the consumer had spent as much time thinking about what she wanted as she did writing her review, a number of problems could have been avoided. Her issues as she outlined:

Pro's:
- SUPER QUIET, I mean REALLY quiet. I don't even know it's running half the time, that's how quiet it is.
...... ---Yes, this is THE quietest machine it its class. However, a quiet machine was NOT the primary requirement for this reviewer's purchase.

- Sleek design. The control panel is up top and literally hides under the kitchen counter when the door is shut. Not only is this asthetically pleasing, it prevents my toddler from turning the machine on at random.
...... ---True again. However, design was also not her primary requirement.

- Stainless steel tub inside.
...... --- Also true. Nice to have but turns out not to have been a primary...

Miele Futura Crystal Series G5105SC Full Console Dishwasher
Don't Buy Miele Dishawasher
It is 3 days before Thanksgiving and I have just been informed that my $2000.00 dishwasher, needs a $980.00 replacement part. Six years ago when I purchased this very expensive, top of the line dishwasher I was assured the dishwasher would be "under the counter " for 20 years because of the quality and reliability of the product. Miele only provides a two year warranty so this should of been a tip off that the reliability claim was just hype. One year ago, I had to call for service (not my first service call for this dishwasher) because one corn kernel got stuck in " the float" making the machine inoperable. Don't buy Miele it's the equivalent a very expensive, tempermental sports car for your kitchen, looks great but you'll spend a fortune just keeping it on the road, or you can just stand next to the the pretty, big name product it just won't be operable!
The warranty is poor for the price and supposed quality. The customer service is lousy. They have a small...

Wonder Washer

Wonder Washer

Wonder Washer
Good for apartment living
I bought this to alleviate the amount of laundry I need to lug out into the street. It is good for maintaining in-between laundry and not to be used as a subsitute for a big machine. I use it to wash my daily wear like tank tops, shorts, personal items and delicates. It can wash up to about three to four women's sized tank tops maximum. Its good for baby clothes.

How it works:
-Pour water into bucket, put in clothes and detergent, not to exceed the capacity line inside the bucket. (7L for small loads, 10L for bigger loads)
-Lock on top lid
-Place bucket on the motorized base (similar structure to a blender)
-Plug in cord and select cycle (standard or delicates) and amount of time from selection: 3,6,9,12, or 15 minutes
-Let machine wash. There's a really flat agitator on the inside bottom of bucket that turns clockwise for a few seconds, pauses, and then turns counterclockwise and keeps going in this cycle until the timer is up.

Here's...

Paid for itself in 2 months.
I have been using the Wonder Washer for several months. Before I was going to the laundry-mat every week and spending about $10 each week. Now I only go once every 4 to 6 weeks to wash the larger items. This machine paid for itself in about 2 months. The loads are small, only 2 blouses at a time (maybe 3 if they are very light weight). I tried washing 3 medium weight blouses and the machine started moving all over the counter and was having trouble swirling the clothes. The knobs are hard to turn (only about 1.5 inches in diameter) and lifting the wash-tub (the manufacture calls it a bucket) on & off the base-unit takes some doing as it is heavy when full of water (total weight approximately that of a 3 gallons bottle of water). The machine washes by spinning the clothes one directions for a few seconds and then the other direction a few seconds back and forth for the duration of time you selected. A little like the front-load washers, only this machine spins the clothes...

No more early waking up and lagging heavy loads to Laundromat
This product is heaven sent.

Prior to finding this product, I had to drag myself every three weeks out of bed at 5.30 in the morning just so I could eliminate the waiting time for washing machine availability in the Laundromat in our area. On top of that, I had to lag a heavy load of clothes.

With Wonder Washer, my clothes don't pile up anymore. In fact, I now find my hamper empty most of the time as I now wash my day's clothes after use at night. People might think it's a waste of time. For me, it's not. As my clothes wash, I can do other things. It has timer, loud enough to indicate when the washing ends. I don't mind replacing the water used for washing with clean water for rinsing... No big deal.

One load allows me to wash a day's clothes -- pants, shirt, underwear, socks. Amazingly, it also can wash my twin bedsheet, which has completely eliminated my need to go to the Laundromat... though I have yet to try washing my bath towels.

I...

No washing machine? Use Wonder Washer. BIG BUCKS OFF! No more quarters! Just plug it in, fill with laundry, add soap and water and close the lid. Swish, swish... things are better already! Won't wash as much as at laundromat, but it'll get a load of socks and underwear fresh and clean fast. Holds 7 liters (1 3/4 gal.). Great for dorms, apartments, boats and RVs. Quiet and super-portable at under 9 lbs. 13x18 1/4"h. Weighs 8 lbs., 6 ozs. Don't risk an underwear crisis! Order Now! Wonder Washer
