WORST EXPERIENCE EVER
I purchased this dishwasher a little over 2 months ago, When it was brought in was dented and a piece was broken. Also a very funky nasty smell came from it. And it just got worst and worst. I contacted the dealer HC COST (thru AMAZON.COM) and they sent a technician to inspected. He had never seen this model before and had no clue of what was wrong, before he left he wanted me to pay him for the inspection!!!!!! The problem was still there and HC COST told me they would send a BOSCH technician to inspected. They sent another tech, not from BOSCH, from the same company. He did not know what was wrong and suggested i had a plumber looking at it and if there was no plumbing issues to call BOSCH directly to get a new one. I called a plumber, actually 2 plumbers, and they both agreed it was installed properly and there was nothing wrong with drain lines. They suggested using vinegar. The odor did not go away. Called back HC COST and they said BOSCH was going to send a new unit. I have an...

Rusts on the inside; stains on the outside
Two years after purchasing Bosch's "stainless" steel "rust-free" dishwasher with a "lifetime warranty" against rust, we discovered... rust. It was in a very specific area, where the metal filter attaches to the interior tub. We called Bosch and were told that it was our fault, that it was our water, our dishwasher soap, our flatware--anything but the dishwasher. We persisted, explaining that we use a water softener and a reverse-osmosis system and that our water is no worse, and probably a bit better, than average. Furthermore, if it was merely our water, then we would expect to see rust everywhere. As for our dishwasher soap--well--it comes from Costco, and I'm sure they'd take exception to Bosch's claim that it promotes rust.

We offered our own theory, which is that the metal used in the filter is dissimilar to the metal in the tub, resulting in a galvanic reaction and corrosion to the metals. Basically, the two different metals, pressed together in an aqueous...

Expensive peace of mind
This is less of a dishwasher review than a warning. About 20 years ago I purchased a Kenmore portable dishwasher and converted it to built in when I got the space.

For 20 years it did an adequate job of dish washing. Maybe ot so silent, it had all the needed features and the biggest problem seemed to be putting any of two sets of dinner plates in the washer because you could only fit two along the side or they hit the spin arms.

So why not spend another $400-600 and get a similar models. I might have considered it until the day it caught fire. Rather than go into all the detail, do a google on "dishwasher fires" and you will see numerous accounts of dishwashers that sponataneously had their circuit boards combust without reason or warning (and you always waited to do the dishes so if there was a flood, you'd be home to stop it. Did you ever imagine it would burst into flames without warning.

I was in bed when mine caught fire. If I hadn't gotten up to...
