Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew Thermal 10-Cup Coffee Maker

Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew Thermal 10-Cup Coffee Maker

Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew Thermal 10-Cup Coffee Maker
Poorly Designed
The grinding area is really difficult to clean and requires cleaning at least once a week. This is a time consuming and messy chore.

The water reservoir has a very small opening so difficult to fill without spilling.

Additionally, the one we bought had a problem with the latch. Had to send it back for repairs.

Would not reccomend this product.

Explodes regularly...
Ok, so my bf has had this machine for a few years, and frankly, I just had to rant, so I came here. (If you resent people only writing reviews when they're upset with a product, then take this review with a grain of salt.)

I am so fed up with this thing. It takes as long to clean it (we rinse it out before every use) as it takes to brew, and as another reviewer mentioned, it feels like re-engineering the grinder every morning... And yes, half the time I am cleaning it out in the morning, *after* it's tried to brew a pot, because half the time (like this morning) the drawer-thing that holds the basket pops out and craps coffee and wet grounds ALL OVER itself and the counter. Of course, that happens somewhere in the middle of the brew cycle, so what little coffee actually made it into the pot is half water and full of grounds, so I have to clean the whole thing up and start over. So much for programming it the night before...

I'm ordering the Breville and...

Not what I expected
I was sooo looking forward to this grinder/brewing coffee maker--especially due to the burr grinder---the one cuisinart I had before was never a consistant grind. We've used it for 7 days in a row now, and it was time to clean it---impossible and a huge mess. Hard to clean, and what felt like engineering a coffee grinder early in the morning when you haven't even had your coffee yet! I'm sending it back.
Plus, we like our coffee pretty strong. I set the program for strong and poured enough water for 8 cups. The coffee ended up much weaker than I expected. I tried a work around by programming 12 cups but only adding water enough for 8 cups. This made a big difference it was just the way we like it. Thermal carafe it awesome. And it tastes just as hot and fresh the first pour as it does 3 hours later. I'm purchasing the same coffee maker but without the grinder, then buying a nice grinder as well. Can't seem to find a grinder/brewing combo that hasn't left me disappointed.

The built-in blade grinder automatically grinds whole beans just before brewing to deliver rich, robust flavor and fragrant aroma. The double-wall, insulated, brushed stainless-steel thermal carafe keeps that wonderful flavor for hours. A one-touch 24-hour programmable control pad, with pause and brew function lets you put in your whole beans before bed and wake to freshly ground and brewed coffee. Perfect for entertaining, as well. Just put in your whole beans, add water, set the timer and don't worry about it until it's time to serve your after-dinner brew.
