Info about this Bosch dishwasher
I have just installed this particular model of Bosch Dishwasher. This is a lower end model in the 300 series, Bosch's middle of the line series. Bosch's bottom line series is the Ascentia, and they lack some of the features that Bosch is know for, such as two pumps. For that reason I avoided that series, this particular 300 series model is priced only about $100-150 more than the bottom line Ascentia.

The noise level of this model is 48 decibels, which is fairly quiet for a dishwasher. Some of Bosch's cheaper units are 52/53 decibels, which would be over twice as loud as this 48 decibel model. However, you definitely can hear this unit is running, so really no need for the red lazer beam projected onto the floor. I suppose this is primarily for dry cycle, since you cannot read the LED display of the time remaining, with the door closed. Still fairly quiet though, you can fairly easily have a conversation or watch TV in the same room with the dishwasher running...

Very quiet dishwasher for home use, very clean dishes!
We've had this unit on a daily use regimen for about 9 months now, and like it very much. This is a very good, very quiet dishwasher, but we really miss the rinse/hold feature and the heavy soil pots and pans settings of our previous model. Maybe a higher level Bosch has those features. Yes, the interior is a bit smaller than our old one, but fine for a family of 4, washing 1 load a day. The shortest cycle is 78 minutes, much longer than our old unit, but I guess that to become more energy efficient, the cycles likely run cooler, but longer. Makes sense? The dishes always come out clean and spotless, tho. The low rinse-aid warning light is very handy. One minor complaint: We now notice soap bubble residue in the bottom after the load is finished. The dishes are well rinsed, but there's still soapy residue below. Kind of weird, so maybe I'll call Bosch for some input, and post the explanation here if worth noting.
