The solution to the beeping
Here is the solution to the beeping. Make sure you disconnect the dishwasher power (Whirlpool model GU3100XTVQ) at the breaker before attempting any of this. Read the whole thing, & if you are not confident enough to try this fix, get a friend to help. I am posting this to hopefully relieve someone else of the very annoying beeping that was driving me and my dog nuts, since it makes the same noise as the invisible fence that he doesn't like.

Position a stool beside the dishwasher, or something equal in height to use as a work surface. Make sure the electrical breaker is off. Open the dishwasher door and remove the six screws that are directly behind the control panel. Don't let the screws fall inside the dishwasher. Carefully set the screws aside as you will be coming across two different sizes.

The control panel of the dishwasher should then be lifted out of position from the face of the door, then while holding the panel close the door a little and rest the...

Constant annoying Beep when door is open!
I've only had this dishwasher a week and it is already driving me nuts!! It has an annoying beep that sounds every 90 seconds when the door is open. So I'm getting beeped at while I'm trying to rinse and load. And just forget about leaving the door open for additional air drying time! REALLY, TRULY, STUPID! The manual doesn't mention this beeping feature at all so you can't even look up what it is supposed to be warning you about. I contacted customer support and they said there is no way to turn off the beep and not even a repairperson could stop it and I'll just have to live with it. Not a satisfactory answer to me. AND because you have to shut the door all the way to stop the beeping, the upper rack couples/attaches to the water hose and so every time you have to give the upper rack a good yank to get it to slide out and all the glasses get knocked over. I think the engineer who designed this dishwasher has never actually had to do the dishes at his house or these design flaws...

constant beeping, racks fall apart
I have never hated an inanimate object before, but I hate this dishwasher. It is maddening. As other reviewers have noted, it beeps every minute or two when the door is open or ajar. There is nothing you can do to stop it. We picked this dishwasher because it was low, because we have reduced space between the counter top and a floor that went on top of an older floor. It is an ADA compliant dishwasher, and I believe the beeping is to warn blind people that it is open. But there is no way to turn the beeping off. I called customer service, and they had no suggestions. I offered to pay a repair guy to clip the right wire, but he said there was no way.

After about a year, I stopped hearing the beeping quite so much. But by then, the racks had started to fall apart. The top rack is continually off of the runner, and I am daily reattaching wheels that attach the rack. The silverware basket also falls apart and breaks easily.

Being this annoying is an impressive...
