Bosch SHE43RL2UC 300 24" White Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Energy Star
We like our Bosch Dishwasher but it took adjustment.
We bought this model of Bosch but not through Amazon. We found both these reviews very helpful and so wanted to add our own.
Our Sears dishwasher gave out after 7-8 years. We had just had a new Sears refridgerator quit after 2 years and were looking for a different experience than mid level appliances from big box or department stores.
We have had the Bosch SHE43RL2UC for a couple weeks. We really did wonder the first day or two, so the poor review here was interesting. The Bosch is smaller than the Kenmore it replaced, not a lot but enough to notice. The tine placement is challenging with dishes not all from the same set, and the bottom rack floor tines are spaced far enough apart so that glasses tip from not having enough support around the rim.
The positive review was very helpful because it helped us adjust from the differences between Bosch and standard mid level dishwashers. Reading the manual helps, a basic point but one that needs to be made. Seeing the photos...
Extreme disappointment
When the 15-yr old Magic Chef dishwasher (that came with the house when we bought it) died a few weeks ago, it was a welcome change to my kitchen. I had very low demands of a new machine: Clean my dishes the first time around. So when I sent my research-addicted husband on the mission to simply find a new machine, he had a relatively easy task. He was so excited with this Bosch. I want so badly to love it, but after 2 weeks I truly can't stand it. It makes me angry every time I open it. What a waste of money, even my husband is let down. We actually called the store today to find out what we have to do to return it. It is not completely without merit, which is why I gave it a two instead of a one. To be fair, here are the pro's, minor irritants, and finally con's of this machine.
Pro's:
- SUPER QUIET, I mean REALLY quiet. I don't even know it's running half the time, that's how quiet it is.
- Sleek design. The control panel is up top and literally...
Somebody didn't do their homework...
There is another review on this product with some elements presenting a misguided view of this dishwasher. If the consumer had spent as much time thinking about what she wanted as she did writing her review, a number of problems could have been avoided. Her issues as she outlined:
Pro's:
- SUPER QUIET, I mean REALLY quiet. I don't even know it's running half the time, that's how quiet it is.
...... ---Yes, this is THE quietest machine it its class. However, a quiet machine was NOT the primary requirement for this reviewer's purchase.
- Sleek design. The control panel is up top and literally hides under the kitchen counter when the door is shut. Not only is this asthetically pleasing, it prevents my toddler from turning the machine on at random.
...... ---True again. However, design was also not her primary requirement.
- Stainless steel tub inside.
...... --- Also true. Nice to have but turns out not to have been a primary...
