So far so good....knock wood
I have had this range for a little over two years and I am an avid cook. In fact I am a brand ambassador for an online cooking site and I test, rate and review recipes constantly. After reading the previous reviews, I am hesitant to give a good review. I knocked wood, so here I go. First of all, I will agree with some of the complaints. The right front and left rear burners are not powerful, but I do find them handy for slow simmers. I do brush up against the electronic panel on occasion and consequently the cue lights for various operations will come up. I just hit the cancel button because I am used to it now. I have been very satisfied with the oven. I love to bake. The temperature on mine, runs consistently accurate and it is very roomy. All that being said, I think customer service for all Whirlpool manufactured lines, Including KitchenAid suck. I bought a matching french door frig. and dishwasher that have had some issues. I did buy an extended warranty thank god, cuz the...

Junk!
We purchased this kitchenaid range two years ago when we built our house. We wanted a range with a gas stovetop and an electric oven. This unit appeared to fit the bill perfectly, and we had always been pleased with our kitchenaid mixer.

Ownership of this monster has been a nightmare. It broke within the first couple of weeks. The oven just blinked an "error" message on the screen. Fixing it the first time took MANY months. While this first set of problems was covered under warranty, it required someone to stay home from work to let the repairman in. It took at least a dozen visits from the repair shop before it was finally working.

Just last week the heating element went out in the oven. This is a stove barely two years old. Again, it was somewhat of an ordeal to get it fixed, and this time it was not under warranty.

When you read the brochure, this range has all the bells and whistles you could possibly want. The problem is that since we have had it...

A terrible oven
We have owned this range for 20 months and have had constant problems. First, the oven thermostat would not work when the power burner was on. Then, the oven thermostat blew when we used the automatic cleaning feature. Now, the meat probe is too unreliable to be used at all; the oven temperature still fluctuates so wildly that a 375 degree setting will actually be under 340 or over 410 on a separate thermometer placed in the oven, and if the oven preheats at all it takes about 20 minutes to reach an alleged temperature of 350 and then never alerts you that it is hot. I am afraid to try to clean the oven again because the repairman told me we would blow the thermostat every time we used that feature. Three of the gas burners are okay and have a good simmer feature, but the front right burner has such a low btu output that the burner is almost useless.

This range has a versatile TripleTier ® burner that can handle any task from simmering to searing - all on one burner. The oven includes a variety of easy to use features such as the Even-Heat ™ True Convection System, which delivers exceptional, even cooking on all three racks - no rotation required.

  • 4.1 Cu. Ft. Capacity
  • Even-Heat(TM) True Convection System provides even heating throughout oven
  • EasyConvect(TM) Time and Temperature Conversion System takes the guesswork out of convection cooking
  • Enhanced self-clean cycle includes an energy-saving quick setting
  • TripleTier(R) BTU burner handles everything from simmering to searing

Poor customer service
On May 7th of 2011 year I purchased a Frigidaire duel fuel range (Model #FGDS3065KW) . My short experience with the actual range has been satisfactory. My experience with Frigidaire customer service has not.

When the stove was installed, there was about 1.5" gap between the back of the stove and the wall. I went to the Frigidaire web site and found a product ([...]) which I thought would solve this problem. As you can see from the web page, the back guard is purported to work with their dual fuel slide in ranges among others. When I got the the part, I found it was not configured for dual fuel range I have.

After being ping-ponged between Frigidaire customer service and Electrolux customer service (Apparently Frigidaire is a component of Electrolux which handles parts and accessory sales for Frigidaire products), I was informed that I could ship the part back for a refund, but I would not be reimbursed for either the initial shipping costs or the the return...
