Kalorik Mini Cooler, Red

Kalorik Mini Cooler, Red

Kalorik Mini Cooler, Red
Love the machine, but it only worked for about 8-12 weeks
I've been searching high and low for a really cool soda machine for my kitchen! I saw this one and decided to purchase it. After using it for about 4 weeks, I noticed there was a lot of water standing in the bottom of the machine. I contacted the company and they assured me this was normal. I made the wrong decision to go ahead and keep the machine.

It has only been a few short weeks since then and now the machine don't work at all! It has stayed plugged in and not moved around, it's not been mistreated in any way. It was working fine one day, then the next it just completely stopped. My window for returns is closed now so what do I do? I am stuck with a $200 machine that I enjoyed for just a few weeks. To top that off, this was a Christmas present. What a disappointment!

Insanely awesome!!
I've had this machine for about 3 years and it's still going strong. Let me give you the pros and cons of the machine

PROS

Holds 12 cans of soft drinks. Before I got it, I only expected it to have 6. But it decided to surprise me by adding another space right behind the one visible in the door.

It has a built-in refrigerating system to keep all of the drinks nice and cool.

The hardware is very sturdy. I weigh a lot and this machine still has enough strength to support me, though I don't do it very often.

Nice old-fashioned design. It looks like drink machines did in the 60s.

It's small enough to fit in compact places. This can be very useful when you don't have a lot space to spare :)

CONS

Coolness cannot withstand outdoor heat. I tried selling drinks at a garage sale only to find that the drinks were moderately cold. If you plan on using this machine outdoors during the summer, I don't recommend...

So cool
This is by far the coolest thing ie bought in awhile. It works as described and keeps the soda extremely cold. I get man compliments regarding this in my "movie theatre" basement. The only downside is the lack of a light inside. It would be cool if it lit up like other soda machines so that you could see the choices better in a dim,Ed environmen. But other than that..get it :)

Collectors will love the RETRO themed detailing on this nostalgic vending fridge. Its red exterior features the Drink O Matic logo in polished chrome and the words "Ice Cold" below the open compartment at the bottom. The unit can hold up to 12-ounce cans. To further evoke a nostalgic trip down memory lane, the fridge will dispense the beverage of choice at the push of a button vending-machine style. The unit cools up to 32 degrees F below the ambient temperature, and its thermoelectric cooling system runs quietly and efficiently, without any of the noise or vibration associated with compressor-style units. The vending fridge runs on 110-volt AC power for use at home or at the office, but can also operate using 12-volt DC power for tailgating parties or when entertaining on a boat.

  • Patented design
  • Can cooler with automatic dispenser function
  • Holds 12 cans
  • Chrome handle and window frame
  • 6 press buttons : only press a button and retrieve cold can in the dispenser area

Good Buy!!!
I was nervous about buying a high priced appliance on Amazon, but decided to take the risk. It paid off big time, especially since the price was the lowest available at the time of purchase. (All the other major appliance stores had them for at least $500 more!) This refrigerator is beautiful and works like a charm!

I've read reviews elsewhere that complained about them being noisy ... I certainly cannot confirm this. Mine has been super quiet, since installing two months ago.

I'll be looking out for more deals from this supplier.

Cheap Parts
Very cheap parts that easily break. Freezes veggies and all other items in fridge. Poor servicing by GE. Not worth the money.

LG 25 CF French Door Refrigerator SS
avoid lg refrigerators
This is our second LG fridge. The first was purchased in 2007. We started having problems right away...seemed like the repair person was here every 6 months. Finally, the last problem was insurmountable and after 2 weeks of "camping" with ice chests, LG at long last replaced the fridge with this model. We were thrilled and the fridge arrived 4-18-2011. On June 1st, it just died. Turned out to be a defective main circuit board. Part ordered. Next day, we were informed that the part was out of stock, not in for 4 weeks. Hmmm, part out of stock....what does that tell you? An all too common problem? It has now been 7 days and we are waiting to see what LG will do for us. They do not plan to reimburse us for all the ice we've purchased or for some of the food that has gone bad. Totally unacceptable time to keep a customer in limbo. Buyer beware!

LG LFC25776ST - French Door
We physically checked out several fridges in local stores and looked on-line including consumer reports. This was significantly larger than the fridge it replaced. We really like the freezer at the bottom w/ the divider (meats on one side, ice cream/dessert type stuff on the other). The slide out shelves are very cool; it's nice when you have a big jug of milk to pull out. There is also an abundance of drawer space.

I was concerned purchasing a large appliance on-line but it went great. It took a little more than a week to arrive. Two guys came in a truck in the 4 hour timeframe given. They were in and out w/in 30 minutes. The fridge was in perfect condition - everything was taped into position. We saved $200-$300 by purchasing off Amazon as opposed to the local box store.

We are very happy w/ the purchase.

Good refrigerator except for ice maker and warranty service
Purchased in January 2011. We like the style and layout of this refrigerator. Unfortunately, the ice maker went out after one month. LG is the only manufacturer that requires you to submit a a form to request in-home warranty service. You can't just call a local authorized service company yourself. Then, when they get around to it, LG contacts a service rep to come fix the problem. It's been five days and haven't heard from LG. I won't be purchasing any additional LG appliances.

A lot of thought went into this LG refrigerator On the outside - contoured doors hidden hinges and recessed LED lighting And Inside is an integrated 4-compartment crisper with deli storage center

  • Sophisticated Style & Design
  • 4-Compartment Crisper System
  • 10 Year Manufacturer's Limited Warranty on Linear Compressor

Best Refridgerator I Have Seen.
I have owned this large fridge for about 9 month now and couldn't be happier. I works great at keeping my food fresher longer, vegatable last around 50% longer if I had to put a number on it. Its has vents on each shelf to ensure adequate airflow everywhere. The freezer has never had any frost develop, not even a drop. Unlike the other review the ice maker works flawlessly creating around 5+ pounds a day. I have two friends that own high end LGs and I like this icemaker more than any of theres. There comes with an LED touch screen, but about $1000 more in price too. The wine rack on this one is a nice touch for keeping some whites around the house.
The only complaints I have is large tall items like a gallon of milk can only be put in the door. Obviously you could adjust the shelves, but this would result in one of them becoming uselessly small. This isn't a huge problem as we just keep large items in the drawer, but still an adjustment from most fridges I am use too. Also the...

incredible space and quiet
First impression....incredible space!!! We just traded in our hopelessly small 23 cu.ft. for this 30 cu.ft. hercules of a refrig. I actually have a separate
shelf for my fish, chicken, pork and beef and yet another for ice cream and desserts plus pizza...you can't get any better than this. Be aware, I'm 5'6" and this refrigerator is DEEP and i will have to stand on my toes to reach the back of the upper shelves on the freezer and refrig sides. Also, with the back lighting
you will find that you put things on the shelves in a different order. I put all my "mexican" related items on the far right, top shelf..salsa's, taco sauce, cheese sauce, etc; and then next to that pesto, and so on over to the far left so that i can now calculate exactly where i'm going in my new refrig. sure it will taking
some getting used to and training my attention deficit husband but I LOVE THIS REFRIGERATOR. If you need extra hight besides the side doof area for things like extra jugs of...

i have no complaints about this refrigerator and highly recommend it. I've only had it for a few days but have been impressed thus far. the size and features are great. I saw a review that complained about the lighting, I think the lighting is outstanding.

    Samsung RF4289HARS
The fridge all your friends will want to play with...
Purchased this Samsung fridge as the final appliance to wrapup our change-over to stainless steel. For first 10 days, the refrigerator didn't seem to be keeping items cold in the refrigerator section. Freezer was working great (ice cream was rock solid) but refrigerator would not stay at temperature set on computer display. If I set the temperature for 34 degrees, the inside was anywhere from 46 to 55 degrees most days. Experimented for several days disabling energy saver and running on Power Cool, but nothing seemed to be a permanent fix.

I called Samsung was very disappointed with their response. They don't know much about this model yet. Level 2 support told me that I couldn't use a thermometer to measure the inside temperature. They told me that I could not use a mercury or digital thermometer because it would have to be calibrated for the fridge. When I asked what type of thermometer I could use, they could not give me an answer. I was told to trust the refrigerator to...

    Beautiful Fridge
Agree with above reviews. Reboot fridge (unplug, wait about a minute and plug back in) after a few days from the time you first plug it in. Ours had wild temp swings prior to the reboot. Sometimes display said 15F in fridge, but thermometer said 38F. Other times display said 38F but fridge was actually 45F. After reboot it seems to be accurate again. Also, have heard some people (on other sites) say touchscreen doesn't work well (or not at all). I had this problem with a display model I was looking at in the store and was ready to pass up this fridge and go with the version w/out the LCD. But, I performed the touchscreen calibration and it worked perfectly after that. I especially like Weatherbug and have programmed my home weather and also weather for my family in another state. I really like the flex-space drawer as we can put sodas in there and cool them down to almost freezing temp. Nothing like drinking a Coca-Cola at 33F! Can't do that with a normal fridge as it's...

    Great Refrigerator
I agree with many things the first reviewer had to say and yes, I rebooted my fridge as well although as I had the opportunity to read his review, I did it on the second day and now, temperature is basically spot on. All three compartments, fridge, drawer, freezer are usually +/- 1 degree of set point. I think the temperature sensors simply needed to stabilize and then calibrate with a reboot. I don't know that it wouldn't have happened on it's on as I didn't give it a chance.

Lighting in this thing is awesome. LED's all over the place, in every compartment so it's very easy to see what you have. Fit and finish seem excellent and it's EXTREMELY quiet. With any background noise in the kitchen at all I have to really listen to hear it running.

It's pretty cool having your fridge connected to the Internet, I particularly like having the Weatherbug app on the display and the wife likes having her Google calendar syncing with it.

    I guess the only complaint...

    Very good fridge...
    Pros:

Runs quietly, energy efficient, great storage capability, ease in redesigning the shelf configuration.

Cons: the ice make is horrible! A quick click of the cube dispenser send out about 18 ice cubes (far too many to fill a large cup!), and a quick click of the crushed ice dispenser sends ice chips flying all over the kitchen. The water dispenser, however, is great. If you want ice, get it from the bin (or wear protective gear!

Frigidaire Refrigerator - Outstanding fridge for our new-to-us house - two years and running
We purchased this refrigerator as part of a four appliance set, and it was the fridge that really made this set the right choice for us.

It was hard for us to find the right depth unit in the brushed stainless look, and we really needed that. The kitchen has a 'fridge insert cutout in the counter/cabinet and most units we looked at were too deep and stuck out too far into the walking space.

This fridge is the perfect size for our needs, and the interior is also well organized. Love it that the racks are easy to move up and down. Also have changed the water filter three times so far (we do it at least every six months) and the swap out was simple to do. Lastly, the exterior water / cubed ice / crushed ice port is easy to use and large enough to get mid-sized bowls right in to the water dispenser.

Really like being able to monitor the refrigerator side temperature and the freezer side temperature separately from the outside, and make adjustments as...

    The Worrst deal I Did
I bought my Frigidaire in late 2007, the first two 2 years worked fine, but after the third year, the ice dispenser stopped working, send it to fix, of course, the warranty was over. In December of 2011 started out a few drops of water through the water filter (the filter was 5 months),because a design error, the water got into the temperature controls so was a short, which burned the compressor and the control panel, in other words, practically the refrigerator die, this serious design mistake, apparently has been resolved, but everyone who bought that model have a time bomb in it, for now I will not buy any products Frigidaire in the future.

Frigidaire's FGUS2642LF, 26 Cu. Ft. Gallery Series Side-by-Side Refrigerator in stainless steel helps keep you organized. Samsung Side By Side Refrigerator model # RS261MDRS.
Okay fridge, but some poor design features
We have had this refrigerator for over a year now and have found it to be okay as a refrigerator, but there are some design choices Samsung made which detract seriously from this fridge. First, the icemaker. The whole system is a mess. You cannot go in the freezer and get some ice out of the bin as we could in previous fridges. This means to put ice in a small mouth container we usually have to use a cup and transfer the cubes.

A bigger issue is the ice dispenser itself. Every time we use it chips of ice, some quite large, spew out from around the top of the glass and shower on the floor. There are always little puddles of water on our floor, and eventually it will damage the polyurethane coating. We are also now experiencing a more concerning issue. The ice outlet gets jammed and the motorized drive which moves the ice out gets stuck on. When this happens, the only way we have found to resolve the issue is the remove the ice bin, empty and rinse out all the little...

    Good fridge, room for improvement
After looking at a number of brands and models of refrigerators, we settled on the Samsung RS261MD in stainless. We liked the overall look, interior arrangement, fit and finish, and the fact that the side was painted a neutral grey, rather than black (personal preference). It is also rated as very energy efficient and priced competively. We knew we were making a couple of compromises and a some other issues came up after we had it in our home. These are:

o LED lighting - Energy efficient and looks cool. On a pricier Samsung model there were more lights. We found after it was fully loaded this fridge does not really have enough to fully light the interior of the fridge side as well as it should. Freezer seems better.
o Ice Maker/water - Like most new refrigerators, all of the controls are contained in an electronic pad on the front of the fridge, integrated with the temperature controls. Had to read the instructions (difficult for a man) to figure everything...

    Not a typical Samsung item
I have several Samsung Electronics and never had a problem until I bought this refrigerator. This fridge is awful and I wish I had a way of knowing exactly what it would be like living with it before purchasing.
Issue Number ONE: Doesnt get very cold. If I pour a glass of milk, it's not very cold like it was from my old fridge. After testing the temperature, it hovered around the 40 degree mark but wasn't consistent throughout the fridge. The freezer seems better

Issue TWO: it's very noisy. I am typically sitting at the table working and hear it more than most, but it is loud and growling much of the time. I suspect it's the icemaker or water compartment filling up, but my old fridge had the same features and never sounded so loud and gastrointestinal!
Issue three: The lighting in this fridge is awful. It does not light up all the shelves and it only lights up the top portion of the fridge. Add food the the shelves and it's actually dark in there. I hate the...

    Water Dispenser Issues as well!!
I am SO disappointed in this product. We were looking at Samsung, and I wish we would have just forgone the 'rebate' and gotten something that worked. It's a beautiful fridge but the water dispenser line CONTINUES to freeze. We keep setting the fridge temperature higher and higher...and nothing prevents it. It's become a huge issue, and no matter how many times the people come out, they can't fix it. I'm VERY disappointed in my purchase...has anyone else had this issue, and if so, what have you been able to do?

Otherwise, it's a nice fridge. The layout is a bit odd (doesn't provide a lot of tall item storage) and the drawers feel a bit cheap to me.

VERY disappointed in GE...I should have listened to friends and stayed away.

    Water dispenser issues
I was excited about this fridge but I keep having issues with the water dispenser. The line is constantly freezing preventing the water from dispensing. I read about other GE fridges having this same issue. I don't know why they can't solve it.

Water Dispenser not working after a few months.

This phenomenal refrigerator/freezer does everything but cook for you
This side by side refrigerator has a huge storage capacity and comes complete with a touchscreen computer that does everything but cook for you. Having owned Samsung refrigerators in the past, I find myself more than delighted with this latest offering. As with my previous one, the ice maker is built into the door, thus saving a lot of room in the freezer section. All the excitement today seems to be over french door refrigerator/freezers, but not for me. I don't like bending down to get things from a freezer. I find the side by side to be a lot more convenient. As mentioned, this has a large capacity, which measures approximately 30 cubic feet. It's all stainless steel and quite aesthetically pleasing. The refrigerator section has five spill proof tempered glass shelves. There are five door bins, three of which are large enough to store a 12-15 pound turkey(I'm guessing at this). The refrigerator also comes with three crisping drawers. The massive freezer comes with five glass...

    great fridge with wifi
the fridge has a compact ice maker and wifi which allows me to listen to music while I prep food. I also love the fact that I can check the weather, read headline news, and leave notes on the fridge panel. It is a great fridge with twin cooling engines and LED lights. All of the features are what I wanted in a fridge and more. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a fridge replacement (as I did).

    Awesome
I have owned this fridge for about 8 months now, the features are pretty cool. The filters are kind of pricey, but I bought it for the computer screen and thats it.

Bosch B22CS50SNS 500 21.7 Cu. Ft. Stainless Steel Counter Depth Side-By-Side Refrigerator - Energy Star
Initially, difficult to get used to, but now happier with purchase
I'm vacillating between 3 and 4 stars, but we certainly like our Bosch better than others who have written about it. The first point I'd like to make is that most reviews of larger appliances are really comparisons between what we had and what we just chose.

We moved down from a 25 cu ft GE Profile (counter-depth) that was 15 years old, and the only reason we did was that it was white (and a little noisy) and didn't go with our new kitchen decor. This wasn't exactly my idea, but I got dragged from appliance store to appliance store, and when I saw this one, I gave it my "seal of approval." The handles were less obtrusive than all the rest, and that for a galley kitchen was the clincher.

Pros: We've had it over a week, and time will tell, but so far it's extremely quiet, and it's good looking. It holds all our food because my wife got very efficient and economized the space, and we're only two people. We've measured temps on both sides, and each was right on the...

Returning it for the Second Time
I replaced my 14 year old dead quiet white Maytag with a stainless steel Bosch. It has a nice, sleek look, but problems and more problems. The first Bosch refrigerator was different from the showroom model in Lowes (stay away!). The showroom model did NOT have two large vent holes on the top surface of the unit, and the refrigerator I received did--covered with stainless steel tape. I was told by the deliveryperson to keep on---a real pretty site, right? That was the first thing. Second is the constant-- I repeat, constant--and penetrating alarm sound/shrill beep that goes on 15-20 seconds (not one minute) after the door is open, and there is NO way to permanently shut it off. It can drive you CRAZY. Next is when you get water from the dispenser. No matter how careful you are, it leaks and drips onto the surface of the door, then drips AFTER you take away the drinking glass. In addition, the freezer shelves fill with frost VERY quickly. However, I noticed a crack in the...

    good experience
During my shopping process for a whole kitchen full of appliances, I noticed reviews are either penned by haters or lovers. That makes it hard for people trying to balance cost, function and reliability, because no appliance will ever be perfect. I was just now shopping on Amazon for a new filter for our fridge and noticed this product did not get very good reviews, I mean not at all. So I have to chime in and tell everyone this refrigerator is fine!

We've had this fridge installed for 6 months now. Two weeks after we put it in the ice maker went out. I immediately predicted gloom and doom and cited all the negative reviews we'd read here. But the warranty repair company sent someone out immediately. He told me this unit uses the exact same model as most other brands out there (like Jenn-Air, Thermador, Kitchenaid and GE, and all the icemaker units come from same manufacturer in China) and we just got a lemon ice maker and a gear was stripped out, which meant it...

    Buyer Beware
First, let me say that I'm a huge fan of most Samsung products. I have owned multiple Samsung cell phones, TVs, monitors, computers, and other products. I have heard the praises on Samsung washers and dryers. All of that led me to buy the RF217ACRS (or RF217ACPN) refrigerator. Its size was perfect for the kitchen I had and at first glance I thought it was a good appliance.

Within two weeks of having it delivered the refrigerator and freezer was intermittent. The freezer temperatures varied greatly and I ended up with a freezer of melted ice cream and thawed out products. I used manual thermometers in both the refrigerator and freezer and quickly learned that it hardly ever kept the temperatures that were displaying on its digital readings. The manual thermometers were placed at different areas and it still never matched. The freezer would be at -25 degrees one moment and +30 degrees the next, all the while the digital gauge on the unit said it was -2 or 0. Frost...

    Fantastic value and looks great
I needed a narrow counter-depth fridge under 3k and this was the only option. My luck it looks great and i love love love the platinum finish. I can smear my hands all over it and it doesn't show a single smudge and I think looks better than stainless steel.

The gripes.. so far are fairly minor. Of course it's a small fridge. But, they made adjustable shelves that only adjust about an inch, which is not helpful. you won't be able to stand any bottles up on the shelves without removing one, which will really dimish capacity. there are small shelves in the door but you can't keep a ton in there. I have a small Brita pitcher that I wedged into the door. if I had anything larger I'd be SOL.

The biggest complaint I have is the noises that it makes and I really want to know if it's normal or if there's something wrong with it. It works FINE. But it makes several different mechanical/electric startling noises. and I do not have the ice maker hooked up so...

Word of Caution on Samsung fridges
I have owned a Samsung fridge and have had nothing but problems with it. Samsungs I have found out have notoriously had cooling problems especially with the coils freezing. Don't just take my word for it, look up class action on Samsung fridges. I tried repairing this fridge twice with appliance repair companies to no avail. Once your fridge stops properly cooling, it more than likely will cost you less to buy another brand. I hate giving this fridge a bad review as I loved the design of the fridge and Samsung brand products in general but unfortunately they havent really figured out how to make a reliable fridge. For the cost of these appliances, you should get more than a year or so of reliable use.

There are several models involved in the class action, not just my model. So you can judge for yourself on whether you want to purchase a Samsung fridge but I wanted to share my experiences with Samsung brand refrigerators and put the information out there about the known...

    So far so good?
I love this fridge but I am afraid of it.

First the love.. if you've been looking for a counter depth because you don't have much room in your kitchen then this, at the time of writing, is pretty much the only option. All of the other fridges made up for the depth with crazy width. The prices are also double for counter depth. This one is not. I live alone, so this is plenty of space for me. The platinum is also the best thing to ever happen. It looks like brushed nickel, which I will take over shiny stainless any day. Stainless is also the worst when it comes to showing fingerprints. I've had this fridge for three months now and open it with smudgy hands and have yet to even clean the front of this thing. You can't put finger prints on it.

    The not-so-much-love.

The Handles.. so far, really so good. But alot of people have complained they fall off. The freezer door handle popped off the first time I used it but now I make sure to open with a...

Buyer Beware: Unit Comes with a Straight Power Cord NOT Flat Power Cord (90 Degrees with cord handing down)
    Power cord issue:
The installation instruction taped on the unit shows a flat wall plug (90 degrees, with cord hanging down) but it does NOT come with this type of plug. Instead you get a straight power plug adding to the depth of the unit. The diagram is misleading to the plug you receive.

Also in the manual on page 4 under the title "Safety Information" it states: "Connect the power plug in the proper position with the cord hanging down. - If you connect the power plug upside down, the wire can get cut off and cause a fire or electric shock." The manual is misleading to the plug you receive.

I contacted Samsung and this is what they said:
"We have cross checked the refrigerator model and found that it does come with the straight power plug.

However, we would like to inform you that the recommended clearance behind the refrigerator is 2 inches."

I would like to put only 2 inches but it is not possible with the straight power...

Samsung is difficult to work with, should anything go wrong!
I bought this refrigerator in January from a well known appliance company (S...rs). I say this because I buy tons of stuff through Amazon, but in the following tale I want to make clear that the problem was not inept installation on my part. The shiny new refrigerator was delivered and installed. That evening, I bought $374 in perishable groceries; plus I transferred my child's $1300 in drugs into the refrigerator. Next morning I realized the refrigerator wasn't cooling. So I called Samsung and worked through their troubleshooting process. Samsung agreed the refrigerator didn't work and directed me to call the retailer, whose repairman inspected the unit and diagnosed the problem: Shipped without coolant. Can you believe it? Was the coolant-installer absent from work that day? It gets better. The appliance company exchanged the refrigerator two days later, but of course the food and drugs were spoiled. Now Samsung is limiting the food cost replacement to $200. And, get this, the...

Back to Basics--our favorite fridge is "retro"
I've been through several types of refrigerators in the last number of years, and strangely enough, despite the current trend for side-by-side or French Door refrigerators, I've gone back to the basics and prefer the older style top-bottom fridge. And I like the freezer on the bottom, as well. And, even more astonishing, I like white appliances. My kitchen has plain white cabinetry and the white appliances fit seamlessly into the facades, where in my opinion, stainless steel would look a bit jarring. Since some of my appliances but not all needed replacing, I decided to stay with white. AND....it is easier to clean. No fingerprints.

This model of refrigerator has some advantages and a few disadvantages.

    The advantages:

The shelves are designed to contain spills (yes, I've had this happen. It's ugly when you have to wipe out spilled milk or soup.)

There is a half-height deli drawer for cheese or cold meats.

    There are two vegetable...

Nice and roomy-- and cold, of course.
I just realized that I've had this fridge for about a month and haven't written anything about it. Of course it is new, so the usual caveat with any review I write (about appliances) is that only time will tell.

It is the same size as my other newer fridge (I bought this one to replace a fridge that was dark brown-- when was that color last available?) It is considerably smaller than the older one was, but it is sitting in my housekeeping room, so it doesn't have to fit into the kitchen "nooks" that some people have for fridges.

I love how much room there is in the fridge. I can fit in opened wine bottles (okay, so I don't leave many bottles that NEED refrigeration) large gallon jugs and plenty of useless condiments into the side compartments. Ooodles of more room than my old fridge.

Why the 4 stars-- bottom freezer is very underwhelming. It is small and has too many drawer divider thingies for the small space. I like that the fridge is more on the...

    Nightmare Product
I also am a return Amana customer. This is a nightmare product, as another reviewer states. There is Whirlpool/Amana known problem with the bottom freezer drain design on this model. Ice builds up and finally drips water onto the kitchen floor. Mine was "repaired" (just a temporary fix of defrosting it with a hot water defrost of the drain tube) under warranty once, and continues to occur as noted throughout the internet. Customer service is willing to link a fix for it to a poorly reviewed Yelp repair company (the same they sent the first time) if I will pay for it this time!! Really unfortunate that the company doesn't correct the design, and recall this product. STAY AWAY if you want peace in your kitchen! Good luck with your shopping...

    Fabulous frig...
We wanted a French door refrigerator, but were discouraged by the negative reviews alll over the internet about the ice makers in all the brands. We initially purchased an Electrolux frig for $2,900, but the ice maker made no ice...at all....so we returned it. Then we purchased this Whirlpool Gold at Sears, using a competitive match price from Best Buy at $1,499 and absolutely love it! The ice maker is awesome and the rest of the frig is perfect as well. We have only had it two weeks, but have no complaints, which is saying a lot since all my research showed all the French Door refrigerators receiving such horrific ratings regardless of brand. On this particular unit, I read about strange noises that the frig makes but I've never owned a frig that didn't make strange noises so that doesn't bother me. Ice dropping in the tray sounds like ice dropping into a tray...what can I say. If ice consumption is an issue in your household like it is in ours, you will adore this frig. If I...

    so-so
We purchased a home and this fridge came with the package. Upon moving in and using this fridge, I would have to say its not to user friendly. I would agree with the other user that the freezer has no room. I am not one to stock up on frozen goods but I can say that their isn't much room in the freezer. Everything has to be stacked on top of each other and it has two slide out drawers that do hold a decent amount but again one drawer is 3 inches from top to bottom. Not much you can put in that drawer (basket). The fridge is unique. Upon looking at it one would think oh wow I have tons of space. The shelves aren't that deep so long items have to be placed sideways which turns into a nightmare of rearranging shelves all the time. I can only fit a gallon of milk on one of the doors. If you wanted 2 containers of juice and a gallon of milk then you are storing your juice laying down. FIne if its a plastic container but not if its a cardboard thing of lemonade. Maybe this...

    Garbage!
We bought this fridge 6 months ago, paid a lot of money for it, and its already broken. The freezer stopped working, and we lost over 200$ worth of food. Another problem is the water dispenser INSIDE the fridge. Every time you want some water from the dispenser you have to open the doors, which warms up the fridge, so the compressor has to work to cool it down, so it is not very energy efficient. The freezer design, is very poor, and has very little space for one this size. The refrigerator compartments also have the same poor design, that allow for very little storage. We would NOT recommend these Cafe refrigerators to anyone, they are of poor quality and craftsmanship, and are made in Mexico!!! BTW we also bought the dishwasher in this series, and it is also garbage for the price, see are other review for info!

great fridge, just put anything on top of it.
Fridge works great, but I found out that you can turn it off with your belly (Im 190 @ 6 feet) when reaching for things you might place on top of the fridge.

The buttons on the ice/water dispenser can turn your condenser off, when pressed at the same time, setting your temps to 0Fc. When that happens your fridge doesn't work and stops producing cold.

Lucky I noticed this before all my food went bad. I called the 800 service number and it was fast and told me the buttons to press to fix this. My temps went up 10 degrees before I fixed it since there is no mention of this in the product literature.

Ice Cube Dispenser Plugs Up Continuously
I have owned this refrigerator for nearly a year. It is very quiet and it has lots of freezer storage space. However it has one problem that drives me up the wall. The ice dispenser plugs up about every three weeks and I have to take the ice bucket out and clean out the ice clog in the bucket and the dispenser chute with warm water.

Here is the scenario that always occurs. I have the freezer temperature set at -2DEGF. Mostly I leave the dispenser switch on "water". I switch it to "cubes" or "crush" when I want ice. After a several days I start getting a combination of crushed ice and ice cubes when I ask for cubes. After several more days I can only get crushed ice even though I have the setting on "cubes". After several more days, It just grinds away with nothing coming out.

Here is what I have to do to get Ice cubes. I open the freezer door and remove the ice bucket. Then I dump the ice from the bucket. I then run warm water through the extraction chamber to...

    Nothing Special
I've had the fridge for over 7 months, replacing a 12 year old Kenmore. The first Samsung delivered was a lemon (ice maker and condenser malfunction). Returned.
So, let's start from the top down.
    1. The exterior has good, clean lines, with hinges hidden behind the door frame.
    2. Handles are secure and doors are easily opened and closed.
    3. The ice and water functions are consolidated. You must select ice or water and depress a lever dispense. This is one of the major design flaws of this refrigerator: the ice frequently comes out all at once, often spilling over to the floor below; ice is of poor quality, often coming out with chips, and melts rapidly; water is not adequately cooled-- no cooler than getting from sink faucet. I much prefer Kenmore's dual dispenser, ice size and quality, and water temperature.
    4. Icemaker is SLOW. We have to buy or make additional ice even for small gatherings and, like many brands, the icemaker is noisy. However, having it on...

    Unreliable
When I first purchased the Whirlpool side-by-side I thought this was a great fridge and for the first 16 months it functioned fine. Then of all days on April 1st (I know April fool) the refrigerator simply stopped cooling and I could hear the compressor engage and run for a brief period and then turn off. Service confirmed my worst fears that the compressor did indeed fail and would have to be replaced at a cost of $600.

THE WARANTEE FROM WHIRLPOOL IS ONLY FOR ONE-YEAR ON ALL PARTS INCLUDING THE COMPRESSOR so I basically have a worthless box. Calls to Whirlpool simply result in meaningless apologies with the response they will do nothing to rectify the problem. If you check the warantee from other manufacturers such as LG or Samsung you will find that the "sealed cooling system" is guaranteed at least 5 years.

My advice is to stay away from Whirlpool for they will not back their product. And remember they also make Maytag and Amana. And this is from a long...

    Not bad for the money...
In this price range, I don't think you will find another fridge with all these features, and with stainless steel. The few reviews you will find, are mostly positive. If you look hard enough, you can find some bad reviews, which are mostly true. One, I found the fridge to be noisy, UNTIL, I trouble shot it one night and found out the annoying buzzing sound that came on when the condenser fan came on, was due to a vibration on the back panel near the floor, rather than a noisy fan motor. I should pull it away from the wall, and look for the vibrating part, but I just carefully wedged a small wood shim(2 wooden close line pins without the spring) underneath the bottom bar on the back of the fridge. NOW IT IS QUIT..

Another negative you will see, is an ice maker that clogs and is troublesome. Especially when going from cubed to crushed ice. I didn't find this, but I did find an occasional issue that sometimes when I go for a cup of ice, it doesn't dispense ice at first,...

    Decent choice
From my wife Sarah: We've had this for a couple years, and here are a few pros and cons:

    Pros:

    - We haven't found it to be at all noisy as some of the other posters have mentioned. It's very quiet.
    - It does a good job of cooling consistently throughout the unit. Our last refrigerator froze food in some areas of the refrigerator section, and didn't keep some areas cool enough. This unit does not have this issue.
    - We like the water and ice dispenser. You can have cubes, crushed ice, or ice cold water. We like that there's a water filter built in to the unit, and it is easy to change.
    - The design is convenient and spaced out nicely.
    - It's run smoothly with no issues at all.
    - We find it to be nice looking.

    Cons:

    - The drawers are flimsy. One draw continually gets stuck and it's hard to open and close. It actually cracked because it was sticking.

So the pros are stronger then the cons by far, and based on...

LG 27.6 CF FRENCH DOOR REF BLACK

LG 27.6 CF FRENCH DOOR REF BLACK
My prefered brand is LG, this fridge has just one problem
I like the way this fridge looks, and like all stainless appliances it shows streaks and finger prints, but it's worth it to me. If you are troubeled by that issue, don't by anything stainless. That isn't LGs fault, it's just a fact of the finish. I like that I can easily place a half sheet pan on any shelf and the fact that there are four separate drawers. All fridges are warmest at the top, so store less perishiable things up there.

It doesn't make huge amounts of ice, and the cubes are really small, but I don't have a large family so it isn't a problem for me. What is a problem is the way the left door closes. It is easy to have the mullion not go into it's channel, leaving the door open about an inch. It's true that it will beep after a minute or so, but if you grabbed your lunch out of the fridge on your way out the door, it will just beep all day and the fridge will be about 50 degrees on your return. Because I have never owned a french door fridge, I don't...

Beautiful, if only it was functional
First of all, the good part: This fridge is a gorgeous piece of kitchenware. The stainless steel looks stunning next to my oak cabinets, and I've gotten quite a few compliments.

However, it's functionality does not live up to its fabulous facade.

So, here are the bad parts:

The water dispenser is separate from and placed above the ice dispenser, so that the drip tray (even if extended) will not catch any excess water sloshed about. It also confuses anyone new to the fridge and you'll end with water all over your floor. We've started keeping water in pitchers when we host parties to prevent this. Still, we inevitably end up having to hand out towels to at least one unfortunate soul.

The ice maker is horrible. The ice cubes stick together constantly, so that you have to bang on it a bit. Plus, we've already had to call and get someone to come out and put in a new ice cube tray when ours got stuck mid-rotation and started making strange...

    Great Refrigerator!
I have owned this refrigerator for a couple of years now, and it has been wonderful. No trouble at all, keeps food very cold. I like the French Doors, very usable space. The interior is beautiful with the LED lighting. The Linear Compressor is very quiet and has a ten year warranty. Ice output is moderate, but I knew that going in. It is OK for my use. My old refer would freeze my eggs. This one has no problems like that. I can say without reservation that this is the best refrigerator that I have ever owned! I also own an LG Washer and Dryer and they have been working away trouble free for 5 years now. My LG Stove has also been great, some trouble with the capacitive touch control panel, but LG service replaced it with out a problem. For me anyway, I like all the LG appliances that I own and have no regrets about buying any of them. I think people are most likely to write a review if they have a bad experience than if they have a good experience.

    Nice!
This new refrigerator is awesome. It's super quiet, super efficient, and just super awesome. When the compressor kicks on, my lights down dim unlike my old one. You can fit a beer glass in the water dispenser area. The only thing i hate is the ice drop, if you get crushed it will sometimes come out (theres no "chute extender" if you will. The display panel is very neat and clean. Note, it can take up to 24 hours for it to produce ice. I think mine took 8 hours after hookup to make it.

    Fridgidaire - 26.0 cu. ft.
We have had the fridge for about 1 1/2 weeks now and it has been very good for us. It has quite a bit of space in the refrigerator side, especially compared to other fridges that we've had at the same reported size. There are two drawers that have adjustable internal temperatures and the digital read-out is accurate and fairly adjustable for both the refrigerator and the freezer.

I read other complaints about the ice-maker and the ice-cube storage container. The latter isn't an issue. The former does seem to be a little erratic. The cups we have can completely cover the spout where ice comes out, however, it comes out very rapidly and frequently winds up on the floor. I usually just open the door to get the ice out. Additionally, the place where the water dispenser is set is very forward and when you depress the lever to release the water it is very close to the front of the cup unless you put your hand around the glass and actually use your hang to press the lever. Ice dispenser issues
Got this new in August 2012. I like the looks and features and everything works great except for the ice dispenser. It makes cubes OK, but frequently an ice cube will get stuck in the dispenser mechanism which will jam it. Quick fix is to empty the ice bucket and clear the jam, but unfortunately it happens often. Repair tech came and replaced the entire ice bucket/tray, but same problem exist, which leads me to believe there's a design issue in the dispenser mechanism. Hoping Frigidaire comes through...

Maytag products feature parts that fail faster than light bulbs. You won't have to change the light bulbs inside this fridge because the switches will fail first, or else the circuit boards. Expect to pay for this refrigerator a second time in repair bills. Maytag does not provide any service information so that you can swap out something simple like a door switch. Onsite repairs by service techs will cost you hundreds of dollars for $25 parts. I'm an electrical engineer and all I need is a service manual and I could fix this machine myself. Maytag won't provide me with any support. Their attitude is to screw you and make it as painful as possible.

I will never buy a Maytag product again. Don't make the mistake I made. Choose a competing product with good reviews.
