Hate this dishwasher
I purchased a brand new house and this was to be the "upgraded" dishwasher with the "upgraded" price. I did not choose it, it was already installed. I have used this less than 20 times and I already hate it. It has the cheap plastic tub. The utensil caddy is 1/2 useless. One-half of it is located directly underneath the soap containers which does not allow you to put large utensils in it. Bowls do not want to stand up in their allocated slot, they just fall over. I can't get the filter out even though I follow the directions. I don't want to force it, afraid I'll break it. The biggest complaint is it DOES NOT clean even the least dirty dishes. I have had to hand wash many items. My old dishwasher (Frigidaire) would clean dishes that sat for days, even at 10 years old and I never prewashed anything. Not this one, it doesn't clean "fresh" dirt. I use the econonmy cycle which takes 1 1/2 hours just to wash. That is not economy. I saw this exact dishwasher at Lowe's and when I...

Very Disappointing
I totally agree with the review from Kay.
We purchased this dishwasher a few months ago in August 2012. Our old, reliable Maytag finally died on us. It washed things so well and we had no idea how old it was because it was in the house when we bought it. We mainly purchased the Whirlpool because it is made in the USA and matched our new fridge. It does not wash well and I fully agree with Kay when she comments on the position of the basket for silverware. We always rinse our dishes well before putting them in the machine and run the machine at least once every two days (sometimes every day). I always end up hand washing stuff again, particularly silverware. The basket design makes the silverware crowded. There is no variation in the baskets inside the machine to allow for different shapes and sizes of dishes like my old one so you end up fiddling around trying to get things to sit well in there if they aren't plates on bottom, glasses and cups on top. I wish we hadn't...

So far so Good
I just purchased this dishwasher to replace another one that lasted 8 years. I could've repaired the other one as the pump wore out, but for a bit more, I sprang for a new one. I read the reviews about people complaining about the utensil basket in the door. Well, if they read the instructions, the basket can be mounted elsewhere. That's why they call it the "Whirlpool
