T-fal FZ700050 ActiFry Low-Fat Healthy Dishwasher Safe Multi-Cooker, White

T-fal FZ700050 ActiFry Low-Fat Healthy Dishwasher Safe Multi-Cooker, White
Excellent fried food, cheap materials
I have received my Actifry this week. The potatoes I fried here came out perfectly fried. Imagine the best french fries you have tasted but without the greasy feeling and oil dripping from them. The oil you will find on the fries once they are ready is virtually invisible. If you want them very crispy, just let them fry a little longer than the specified time. If you like them tender on the inside, follow the specified time provided on the user's manual which is around 40 minutes for 2 1/5 pounds.

So far I have tried frying potatoes, bananas, nuggets and onions. All came out with brilliant results and what's best, using minimal oil. They all looked and tasted just like fried but were not greasy. And they were very crispy.

The only drawback is the quality of this gadget that was clearly not made to last. I have used mine 6 times only and the paddle has already stopped working twice for no apparent reason. The paddle was attached correctly and no food was blocking...

Excellent Idea - Questionable quality for the price
I've had the T-Fal Actifry for 3 months now, and I've loved it for making large batches of low-fat fries, sauteed onions, mushrooms, and vegetables.

After what I consider light to normal use (using it every few days for a cooking task) the gray plastic molded piece underneath the removable pan has developed a crack. The crack doesn't affect the cooking (yet) and I'll be continuing to use the machine for large batches, but at $250, the ActiFry machine seems very overpriced for something that only holds up to 3 months of light use before developing cracks.

Based on other reviews here, I also recently purchased a KitchenStir KS1000 Chef's Stir Pan, and I'd like to point out the differences between the two machines for those thinking of purchasing one.

The KitchenStir (roughly $80) is a much smaller machine, so you cannot get as large a batch cooked as with the Actifry. (On the plus side, the KitchenStir has a much smaller footprint, which makes storage a...

Not perfect, but great
I bought this in 2008 in Germany and use it every day for perfect fries and everything else pre-cooked or pre-fried. First of all: it is important to understand that it's more like an oven than a frier. Never made home-made fries, frozen works for me. In less than 20 mins I get my side order. If you cook more, like 2 pounds, you will need more time.
I have never had a serious issue with the machine. I broke the lid while cleaning it (it is NOT dish-washer safe as I learned) and Tefal sent me a new one next day for free (I am happy we have 2-year-warranties in Europe, it's the law here). I also bake frozen rolls, spring rolls, fish sticks, breaded shrimp, chroissants, even small pizza slices etc. etc. Maybe it is not good to share this, but sometimes I just take the rotating arm out (for bigger items) and use it without - which is against instructions but works great.
What bothers me is that the 'timer' does not switch the machine off and its' signal is drowned in the...

Waring DF250B 1800-Watt Deep Fryer, Brushed Stainless
Crispy Foods once again!
Had this for over two months now and WOW! "Crispy fries at last!"
Seriously, I have missed crispy food since restaurants seemed to stop (esp. fries)
This unit heats to 375 degrees (it does take about 7 to 10 minutes, but that's average)
Easy to clean, and parts all come out for easy access and all but the heating element can be tossed into the dish washer...
The only thing I recommend is buying an extra oil reservoir for oil changes....
I rarely recommend 5 stars, but after 2 months... the Waring got it.... Now if they could fix it so I could eat fried foods without the calories ;-D

The best deep fryer I have ever purchased
I have purchased several deep fryers and I was always unhappy until now. This is the best fryer ever and at such a great price. Very easy to clean, large frying basket and the best part of all - it heats up very very quickly. Normally with my other deep fryers I was waiting 15 to 20 minutes for the oil to reach the frying temperature and now it takes me about 5 minutes or less. You will not be disappointing with this fryer at all.

Disappointed
I bought this deep fryer after much searching. I liked it at first, and it was easy to use. I have two major gripes:

1. It never got above 340 degrees (we checked with a thermometer). We ended up with soggy fries.
2. It was pretty big when you consider the amount of oil it tells you to fill it with. When filled to the "max" line, it only was a few inches deep. You couldn't fry like a large chicken breast without turning it mid way.

I sent it back. Amazon's return process is AMAZING! That why I gave this a star. Also, clean up with this fryer was very easy. The pieces came apart and, though I didn't put it in the dishwasher, I'm sure you could.

The Waring Pro Deep Fryer holds 2.2 pounds of food and crisps it to a crunchy, golden perfection. The brushed stainless steel fryer features a domed lid with condensation catcher, 1800-watt immersion-style heating element with protector, heavy mesh basket for faster cooking, collapsible cool-touch handle. Safety features include a 3 foot breakaway cord, overload auto-shutoff protection, and safety interlock system that prevents operation until the control panel is properly mounted.

this fryer is awesome
this fryer is easy to put togeter, easy to use, and makes the best french fries ever. i previously had a fry daddy and this fryer shamnes the fry daddy. everything comes out so clean and crisp. i love it, also you can filter out the oil which i think is way cool. the temp goes up to 370f, which i thought would be a problem because french fries call for somehting like 375f, but it works great. i don't even like going out for french fries anymore because the ones i make at home are way better. i have one of these and so does my sister and we both love them.

T-fal Deep Fryer
A costly product for less than a year's seldom useage and it was not abused. It was easy to clean. What stuck me as odd was the magnetic electrical connection. I sincerely think mine went bad at the electrical point. It never seemed to make a solid contact, therefore wouldn't work.

Decent Product, Decent Price
Not a bad fryer, wish it was a little larger, but the size is listed in the description. Heats up quickly, and returns to temp quickly as well. Basket handle is a little odd, but works. Great entry level fryer.

DeLonghi D24527DZ Dual Zone 3-Pound-Capacity Deep Fryer
Best Fryer for a family of 2 or more! It 's Incredible!
I bought this fryer mainly because of its capacity, we're a family of 4, and because I heard good things about it. I am so glad I did! This fryer cooks 3 pounds of food perfectly! I made a ton of homemade potato chips tonight. This fryer is easy to use and easy to clean, and, as a bonus, it's easy to drain so you can save your oil.

When I was a teenager I worked at Burger King, and cooking with this fryer made me feel like I was at the fry station again (not that I want to relive that feeling). But, really, it has an actual basket that lowers into the hot oil and it has a place to set the basket so when your food is done it drains properly.

My Chinese chicken and broccoli has never tasted so good! This fryer is a gem.

If you like to cook and want to cut down your cooking time on foods such as french fries, chicken, fish for tacos etc..., then this is definitely a purchase to make. Amazon has free shipping on this fryer which is why I bought it from...

Had no problems standing up to our Seafood Feast
My family and I celebrate Thanksgiving with a large seafood feast. Much of it is fried, and we need a LOT because everyone loves it. Traditionally, I have been the one camped outside in whatever weather happened to be around that year, frying up the large batches in my turkey fryer. While the adventure was always fun, monitoring temperature through multiple batches was difficult, and cleanup was always a nightmare. This year, we decided to try something that would keep me inside and possibly ease the cleanup effort. This fryer seems to be the answer.

First, I should say that I only give 5 stars when I can't think of a way to improve a product, so don't let the 4 stars color your impression. This fryer did everything I needed with no hassle. We were able to to fry up over 4 lbs of shrimp, 1 pint and a half of oysters, over 2 lbs of scallops, 4 soft shell crabs, and 3 large catfish fillets. I used smaller batches since this was my first time using the fryer, so it...

Decent, but a little pricey
Received this as a gift for Christmas '08. Have used it at least 8 times so far, and have had no problems with the function or electronics or anything. It does cook well, and it is nice and easy to clean once you have the oil drained (just throw most of it into the dishwasher!). However, one of the reasons that I requested this fryer was for the draining system, and I am pretty disappointed in it. I was hoping for something a little more sophisticated then just a simple valve that opens, like maybe a built-in filter and a reservoir to hold the oil.

If you want to drain the oil, you have to first find a nice container to use to store the oil in. Then you have to try and hold this container up to the valve, along with a strainer or other filter to keep the oil clean, and I found you also need a funnel to keep the oil from running all over the place. While holding all of these items under the valve, you then have to try and open the valve. Once most of the oil has...

Philips Airfryer Hd 9220 White Violet Fryer with Timer

Philips Airfryer Hd 9220 White Violet Fryer with Timer

Philips Airfryer Hd 9220 White Violet Fryer with Timer
Ridiculous price! But it's actually a very good product.
This product costs only about US$250.- in Thailand, where the seller ships it from. My sister bought it and it worked like magic. She could fry her foods without a single drop of oil and they came out perfect... amazing, I have to admit. I wanted to get one for myself but they use 220 V. in Thailand and to have to use a convertor in order to use it in the US is not ideal. It's a shame that Philips doesn't manufacture this product for the US market.

Amazing and delicious!
Great quality product and it delivers delicious food!!! I have air fried fresh cut zucchini sticks using the recipe book and homemade stuffed wontons (brushed with olive oil) in this "frier" so far--while owning it for only one day. The zucchini sticks were deliciously soft, moist and crispy where browned, the wontons were all crispy and browned. Very impressed with the browning and buttery taste. Not sure why others down play this product. I knew not to go by the reviews and to decide for myself, and I'm so glad I did, which is why I am determined to leave this review. I have not even tried french fried potatoes yet which are its main purpose, and I already love this "fryer". It is best to spray the basket with non-stick spray to avoid sticking, however, the user manual does not mention this. The full photo recipe book starts you out with several basic ideas that can be expanded on. This product must be used on heat resistant surfaces, so it cannot be set directly on high...

1 Star because it's overpriced, sales sucks
I researched a lot in the internet, so far we have two "air fryer" in the market: t-fal Actifry (last model is 2in1 - FYV9601) and philips Airfry (last model is the XL - don't have the code but the one in this add isn't the XL)

People that tried both liked more the quality of the Airfry because they claimed the Actifry presented issues with the lid and other plastic part I don't recall that can break.

The advantage of the Actifry is that it will stir the food while the philips Airfry when it comes to fry potato you need to give a little shake to cook the potato evenly.

The reason that Actifry is called "2 in 1" it's because this new model introduced a extra plate so you can cook two meals (for example: potato on the bottom when the machine will stir and small meat on the top plate which will only rotate).

The Airfry also can cook two food but the way it works is just a little plate that is positioned in the middle of the cooking container so...

The last deep fryer you will ever buy
Over the years, I have owned 3 other deep fryers ranging in price. I have never used a fryer as good as this one. I've had it for a bout a week and I have used it nearly every day making anything I can think of.

The fryer's temperature rebound is the best I have experienced in a home fryer. The fryer can return to temperature in less than a minute after making a batch of food. The digital display makes sure that you have it set to the correct temperature. The basket is "family sized" and you can legit make 2 large russet potatoes into fries in just one batch. I put 16 cheese sticks in at one time too and they came out perfect.

The best feature here is the automatic oil filtration and storage system. There is nothing like this in any other residential appliance. You literally flip a switch and once the oil cools down, it drains the oil (while filtering) into a storage reservoir built into the machine. The filtered oil is free of any debris. Also, all the...

Great Features
Bought this fryer to replace another brand fryer that did not have the features of this one. The old one I had to drain oil through hose and then filter by hand and take the whole fryer to the sink and scrub, leaving dried grease. This T-fal is so much easier to clean with its removable stainless steel tub insert which I just clean at the sink in a couple of minutes and while cleaning the tub i put the basket inside and wash at same time. There is no need to put in the dishwasher. After frying I just set the oil drain filter lever, turn off the fryer and it automatically drains the oil while filtering it into the plastic oil tray. Works like a charm. The digital display and setting is great and timer is nice. The oil tray I put in my refrigerator to keep it fresh until next time. I have drained it once so far with no problems as long as you do not go past the max amount while filling. I use peanut oil and fried 8 batter fried chicken wings for 20 minutes at 356o with no noticeable...

T-fal FR7015001
I purchased the Emeril by T-fal FR7015001 with digital read out this unit is very easy to use and very easy to clean I have used it to deep fry fish, chicken, french fries, corn chips, panko shrimp, everything turned out great, I like the quality of the stainless steel tub and the one piece heating element, I have heard the stories of some units leaking oil, after looking at the fryer I think the only way for them to leak is if you over fill the tub above the max level and try to drain the oil into the storage container the oil will come out the top of the storage container when it is over filled, that only makes sense, the digital read out is pre set to four different temp settings,320,338,356,374, you cannot adjust in between these temps I have not had a problem with this, it makes frying simple! Very nice fryer I would recommend this fryer.

The oil storage/filter feature ROCKS.
Just got mine about 1 week ago. Made fish and chips just tonight. Figured it's time to put some back into the review pool and share the knowledge.

The reasons I chose this fryer turned out to be not the reason why I like it. But I do like it.

I bought this fryer because I thought it had a digital read out for temperature. This was Alton Brown's idea. But the digital read out does not serve this purpose! It is only for a timer countdown feature which works ok, but my handheld timer works better. The temperature control is actually a lacking feature because there are only four preset temperatures this fryer will lock in to (320, 3338, 356, 374) degrees F. This is fine for me since all I care about is the high temperature.
What turned out to be a very cool feature that I assumed might be a gimmick is the oil storage tray/filter system. Normally when you operate a fryer like this, you do your frying business and then let it cool down (takes 2 hours or...

George Foreman v. Emeril Lagasse -- for the Deep Fryer Title
So, my first fryer was the Emerilware Deep Fryer. I liked it. I liked it so much I bought two of them (one for my mom). Then I was asked to review the George Foreman Deep Fryer with Smart Spin Technology. Here is my comparison...

1. The empty Foreman fryer possibly weighed twice as much as the empty Emerilware.

2. DESIGN: The Foreman fryer's parts were difficult to assemble and take apart. The plastic parts appeared flimsy. The door latch is only on one side and both the latch and the open button seemed to get stuck. The fry basket was difficult to get in and out of position. The oil well has to be perfectly slid into position, then snapped into place. There's a lock/unlock button to keep the well in position that also gets stuck (but this might actually slide more easily with use). And the heating element mechanism was difficult to remove with the *extremely* flimsy handle. What bothered me...

You pay for the name but, its a great fryer.
We picked this one rather than the non Emeril model for the digital setting of the temprature. I have heard digital was better for accuracy (Alton Brown). Set up was easy. Reading the manual is a must to figure out the digital controls. The self draining and filtering worked as it should. Pay attention to your oil levels do not overfill!!! The amount of food you can fry is good for a family of four. The only thing I wish this fryer had was a higher temp setting but, it seems to be the industry standard. We love this fryer!!
