Superb workhorses!
First of all, I'm sorry to hear about other people's bad experiences with the Miele W3033 washing machine. My own W3033 has worked without a hint of a problem for almost 3 years. I don't really ever give it's reliability a second thought because my last Miele washing machine was a tireless performer for the 12+ years in my last place. As far as I know, it's still running fine for it's new owners. Similarly my sisters - both with large families have used their machines at least once a day if not more for more than a decade. Those machines weren't the current W3033 model of course but speak to the durability of Miele washing machines. I'm surprised that Miele didn't fix the other reviewer's machines because they are famous for having really excellent customer service and going the extra mile. Perhaps the unhappy owners' machines were fixed and they didn't feel the need to vent any further or give an update. Equally most owners wouldn't think twice about leaving a good review, because...

Nice Machine
This is a nice machine! For the price, it had better be, right? With great reservation, I purchased this washer to replace a worn-out Maytag unit. With a family of eight in a small space, our washer works for a living.

This one has many options and features that I am still trying to figure out. The interior light is very nice. It's solid, nicely sealed, heavy, good door with real stainless. The interior drum honeycomb is very nice and you can see how it is better for clothes. I don't understand half the buttons, yet, since the Maytag was just very simple. It's getting clothes clean, though, which is the whole goal. Clothes come out feeling nicer, smelling like clothes, not soil or soap or bleach or anything but clothes.

It's quiet! And, my older Whirlpool dryer is working in much less time now. Maybe it's the pressure of having a shiny new German appliance in the house or, more likely, because the Miele really spins the clothes so dry - really dry. Because we...

Amazing for it's Size!
We purchased this, and the matching 8013 dryer for a major remodel of our smallish Nob Hill Condominium. A locally-owned dealer recommended this as the very best compact, ventless system available. He has been 100% correct. The outfit is truly easy to use, with perfect results every time. The 3033 requires less than 2 TBSP of HE detergent, and NO bleach-even for men's briefs. Wash time is typically 1hr 15 min; drying is 75 minutes (hint: use "mostly dry" setting). The set-up people worked with my contractor to ensure all fittings worked, and did the demo for him. My wife loves it, which is the single best thing I can say about it. Oh, and it is more quiet than our dishwasher.

Other tips: follow instructions carefully. Worth nearly $4,000 for the set? If it lasts as long as the others sold by our dealer here in the City, yes!
