Kalorik 4-Cup Capacity Food Processor, Black
pretty good
Nice appearance, works great, much cheaper than the more famous brands, very flexible with a lot of attachments.
Why no five stars? It sounds like the end of Western civilization when it's running.
I'm going to start using ear protection when I make cole slaw. Not kidding.
Love It!
Never owning a larger food processor before I bought this one primarily for the price & the look. I was not disappointed. The dual blade is awesome for chopping meats like for ham or chicken salad & does a great job on onions, peppers etc. Be careful making cole slaw as the line between perfectly chopped & pulp is about 2 seconds. :o)
The snap on attachments (grater & slicer) seem a bit cheap, but do a great job. It is a little loud as one reviewer has noted, but I was using a Salad Shooter Pro prior to this & talk about noise!!
If you're considering this unit for the french fry blade, don't. It does not make french fries. Fries should be the length of a potato, not the width of half a potato. It does make the perfect size for fried potatoes though.
There is a bit too much clearance between the grater & the plunger so you'll end up with a little hunk of cheese that won't shred, but that's probably typical of most.
It is true you can store the attachments in...
Does the job with some annoyances
I purchased this a little over a week ago and have now used it several times. It's my first food processor, although as a kid I used my mom's, so I'm not a complete newbie. I've been vegan for a few years, but my cheapie blender has issues, and I finally got tired of lumpy hummus. I got this because with all the attachments, it seemed like a good deal, and (of course) because it was less expensive than some other brands.
On the positive side, it does what it's supposed to: chops stuff. I do like the way it has a "blade adapter" inside, so you can just pull the chopping blade out of the bowl without having to get your fingers anywhere near the blade and so the blade doesn't end up in your bowl of chopped food. It doesn't have too large of a footprint on the counter, which is important in my little apartment kitchen.
It does have some negatives. The biggest is this seems to be the food processor version of "The Princess and the Pea." If there is even the tiniest...
