Buyer Beware--twice flooded my kitchen!
This model GE dishwasher came with our new construction home. The builders ran a test on it they day before our final walk through. We arrived to the final walk through only to find half our kitchen floor ripped up. The dishwasher flooded all the way down to the basement! A defective part was blamed. A new dishwasher was sent. This time, water was shooting out of the top right side. I called 1-800-GE-CARES. The system for scheduling an appointment is entirely automated. The system could not understand the name of my street. I was transferred to a representative who disconnected me. I had to do it all over again. Once you do get a representative, you have to repeat all the info you typed in anyway! What is the point? The repairman came and said nothing was wrong with the dishwasher but said perhaps a new gasket would help. He said it should work fine. For some dumb reason, I believed him and ran the thing, only to have another flood that soaked our cabinets, floors and trim...
