Frigidaire FFBD2406NW 24" White Full Console Dishwasher
Good machine
I observed the Frigidaire FFBD2406NW with a prevailing online retail list price of about $400 when I was shopping for a dishwasher end of June, 2012. With its features it seemed priced correct there versus comparable models. Which might be to say, it wasn't a complete bare bones econo model, ie, a cheapie landlord's model for rental units. This model was a step or two above that.
I ended up finding it in store for $269 (...this model must be near retirement. It seems to be listed at $269 everywhere now), which IS a bare bones price. So I bought it. I have not been disappointed. It installed easy and runs well. At the price I paid, I got enormous value.
I hope the following comments are useful:
It's a two spinner model. 3 cycle choices with delayed start.
Dishwashers seem consistently rated for noise at about 60db, as is this one. In practice, this is not noisy at all. This Frigidaire runs quiet.
Door has a lightweight feel, as...
Great Value!
Door does not close tightly and that is about the only complaint that we have about this dishwasher. It isn't as quiet as I expected but it is better than the previous dishwasher. It does get the dishes really clean and the glasses don't come out with spots and streaks. Good value for the money.
Dishes come out clean, but dishwasher isn't especially quiet
The most important aspect of a dishwasher is that it does a good job at getting your dishes clean. I give this one high marks in this regard, as our dishes come out spotless every time. Also, since we have hard water in our area, the same can't be said for the previous Whirlpool dishwasher that we owned. The other reviewer stated that he found this machine to be quiet. I would say that it's fairly quiet, but by no means as quiet as I would like. You can definitely hear it running, and if you're watching TV, you'll have to turn up the volume slightly to compensate for the noise that this makes. It does seem to take an exceptionally long time to do the dishes, about 90 minutes without using the dry cycle. The dishwasher seems to be cheaply built and the door and inner rack are very lightweight. Only time will tell if it's durable. The bottom line is that it gets our dishes clean, but is noisier than we would like.
