GE PDWT580VSS Profile 24" Stainless Steel Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Energy Star
Quiet and Powerful. Great for Large Dishes
My wife and I looked at Consumer Reports; searched the Internet. Finally we went with dishes in hand to stores. This dishwasher is so quiet. But for my wife unlike many top rated dishwashers this holds our big dishes. Very important.
Cleans them fine. We have hard water. We use vinegar inside; as we did with our old dishwasher.
Made in USA important to us.
After 3 months still happy; some changes to improve quality of cleaning.
After reading the manual I adjusted the control that detects "hardness" of water after utilizing a strip GE provided with the dishwasher. I found using a rinse agent in the dishwasher rinse agent vessel is the way to go (Using the Cascade they gave us) and adding extra heat. He cycle time is longer but now sparking glasses.
Like Finish all in one power balls for detergent.
NO SEALING
I owned 3 GE Profile dishwashers with smart dispenser in 7 years. Two of them were replaced due to manufacturing defect. The most recent one has been intermittently down in the last 3-1/2 years. I finally was told by a GE technician that a corrosion on a part caused the problem because the electronic panel is not sealed to prevent moist and water getting in. GE refused to admit that it is a design flaw or manufacturing defect. A GE customer service associate once told me that NE coasts in America are full of salty air which cause the corrosion and of course it is ridiculous. The problem is corrosion takes time to develop and you have to catch it in the first year, or you need to buy a new one again, and or you buy an extended warranty.
