The Dishwasher Filtration System
Works!
I found this product to work as advertised. Our dishes were coming out cloudy at best, at times worse than they went in. San Diego water. So we gave the Dishwasher Filtration System from Difi a try. Installation was a bit more cumbersome than I would have liked, but I'm not much of a handyman. It leaked out the top a bit, and maybe out the inlets/outlets, but after some tightning down of things, no leaks.
Results of my first wash after installation were pretty dramatically good! Problem solved. Quite happy with it for a few months, forgot about it, then dishes started coming out cloudy again. Figured it was time for a filter replacement. That didn't go as smooth as I'd like either. In fact, I couldn't unscrew the top the first time I got under there and tried. So I planned to pull it out and stick it in a vise on the weekend, but when I came back and gave it another try, it unscrewed nicely. Anyways, replaced the filter, ran one wash with a dishwasher cleaner...
It does indeed work! Well!
I just installed my Difi filter setup and the installation was very easy. No leaks and everything I needed was supplied in the kit. I would recommend adding a little more Teflon tape to the fittings before you screw them in. I think that might be why the other reviewer had leaks until he tightened the fittings some more. I added a few wraps before I assembled the fittings and nary a drop with the fittings at a normal tightness.
I got this less because of a water quality issue than because I'm in a neighborhood where the developer is still building and every time they connect up a new house, they somehow manage to dump more dirt in the water lines. It's pretty maddening, really. I have been flushing my hot water heater, cleaning the filters in the inlets to my washing machine, cleaning the screens on the faucets and shower heads - you get the idea. But the dishwasher filter is really hard to get to to clean out. (And yes, I am also installing a whole-house filtration system...
Dissapointed
Let me start off by saying we have very hard water, roughly 400 mg/L and when our city outlawed water softeners I began searching for a solution to our dishes and glasses that were coming out with a white chaulky film covering them.
I was thrilled to read reviews on this product and ordered and installed the Dishwasher Filtration System from DiFi. It was packaged well, looked high quality and was easy to install with very clear directions. All the necessary parts needed were included in the box.
Initial results were disappointing but I continued to hope over time the results would improve. This has not happened and I have been using it every day for several weeks. Although it may have slightly improved the quality (hardness) of the water, the difference was imperceptible to me. I wanted nothing more than this product to resolve my problem, but it has not.
Granted, we have very hard water. The system may work better for those whose water hardness is...
The Dishwasher Filtration System reduces calcium and magnesium that for as long as dishwashers have been around creates white, chalky residue on your dishes. The system removes these minerals leaving your dishes spot free and crystal clean with every load. You will be amazed how clean your dishes look after installing the system.

- It solves the cloudy, spotty look caused by hard water.
- Extends the life of your dishwasher and can avoid costly repairs.
- Ensures your dishes are washed and rinsed with clean, filtered water.
- Easy to install and fits right under your sink.
