Ninja NJ600 Pro Blender

Does not blend to smooth consistency
I drink a lot of smoothies that contain frozen fruit and various vegetables. I was using a standard blender that could be purchased anywhere for normal household use. It was not powerful enough to handle all of the frozen fruit and items that I threw in it and the motor burnt out very quickly. I purchased the Ninja Blender to replace it, and here is my feedback after using it daily for two weeks:

It is very powerful. I can fill it full of frozen fruit, various vegetables and greens, and it blends them very quickly and effortlessly. For that, I love it! It is easy and safe to use, even my children can operate it safely. It has a large pitcher that is easy to pour from. It is easy to clean-no need to disassemble it, the design is brilliant in that the parts are solid and well constructed, and easy to remove from the base to wash.

Downfalls:

It DOES NOT blend to a smooth consistency! If the most important feature of a blender for you is...

My wife and I just heard about the Ninja Blender a couple days ago. I've heard in the past that the amount of power (watts) is one of the most important factors to look for when looking for a blender. This one has 100O watts of power, which is more than any of the blenders that I know about around this price level.

I actually used to use my parent's vitamix for a couple years a few years ago and that thing was the best blender ever. Earlier this year, we bought the Blendtec from Costco and loved it, but ended up returning it because it was just too expensive. So anyway, we had a coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond and we figured if the Ninja Blender sucked, then we could return it easily. I wasn't expecting all that much since it is only 1/4th the price of a Vitamix or Blendtec. I guess I shouldn't be comparing in the first place, but those are the only blenders that did not break and worked very well when making my frozen fruit smoothies. I have tried a number of cheaper...

Great Blender
I got this blender today so it has only been used twice. However, I LOVE it so far...made "snow" in a jiffy. My main use will be for smoothies and it is a champ at making these clump free. I used all frozen fruit and nuts in mine today and it blended them right up. The container is huge and made perfect sized smoothies for my family of 3. I was in the market for the Blendtec total blender and while I'm sure it would be an AWESOME blender, it's just too expensive for my smoothie habits right now. Hopefully, this blender will be around for a few years. It is really sturdy on my cabinet as well. I love the fact that the container must be locked on before the machine will power up. Another reviewer mentioned the size was tall...it is a tall machine! I will have put the container in a cabinet and leave the base on countertop. It measured 17" from counter to top of the container with the lid locked on top. About 7" deep measuring from front to back of the base.

Useful for a number of chores in the kitchen
While I usually chop on a plastic cutting board with a big chef's knife, the Cuisinart makes several tasks a lot easier. Chopping cooked or raw meat is one. If you are making hash from leftover corned beef, a short burst in this food processor is the easiest way to go. For mixing certain pastry doughs (pie or pate brisee) this is also a very good item to have, although you have to be careful to go slowly and not overprocess. The one thing the Cuisinart does is heat up the dough if you whirl it around too much, so you have to be careful. And if you put too heavy a bread dough in, using the plastic bread blade, you can heat the shaft up enough to jam the blade onto the central post and that's a big nuisance. However, with these cautions, the Cuisinart is hands-down my favorite food processor and for shredding, slicing thinly or chopping, pretty much the best kitchen appliance for the job.

A "gadget" that really works
I bought the Cuisinart food processor last Christmas...as a gift to myself. My husband rolled his eyes when I told him I had bought this..he thought this was another gadget that would get used once and then disappear forever in a kitchen cabinet. I absolutely love this machine...I use it almost everyday from chopping vegetables to making cookie/cake dough. It is easy to use...easy to put together and best off all..easy to clean. I would highly recommend this for anybody who wants something that really works.

Must have for every kitchen!
True to the listing, this little machine does a lot! Baklava requires a lot of chopped nuts. This machine does it lickety split. Beautifully sliced tomatoes, all the same width, in no time at all. Pesto in minutes. Every cook should have this item on the counter. Clean up is simple...put it in the dishwasher (but, not the motor part.) The machine is pretty quiet. The price is good at $99 w/ free shipping & handling. We had a $50 coupon that made this long overdue purchase even sweeter. I have nothing bad to say of this food processor. It's awesome!

I researched dishwashers like crazy and decided that I would just go with the same "updated" model of GE. Prices compared, it is about the same.
I had several things that I wanted. One was the potential for the same length of a normal wash cycle (114 minutes with added heat). Secondly, I wanted hard food disposal and loading flex. I'm very easy to please.

All the newer models available had a little of this, a little of that. And the cycles were torturous in length because new and eco friendly uses less water and energy. It does not appear by reviews to help with cleanliness. In as much as the specs for the motor in this machine(GDWT 668) are the same as my old machine,(PDW 8480) the features do not work the same.

The positives, thus far, are that the dishes are shinier than I remember and the glassware sparkles! It does run more quiet than the old DW. The decibel level went from 53 to 52. And, as the new dishwasher only came with a pittance of insulation, I...

I didn't purchase this dishwasher on Amazon; I bought it elsewhere. Hopefully that doesn't discount my review at all.

That said, we're really happy with our dishwasher. We did all of the research on Consumer Reports and read all of the consumer reviews from retail places like Amazon and Best Buy. The best thing to do is to just find one with the features you want and hope for the best. That's what we did and it worked out nicely. The consumer reviews are pretty polarizing: "1 star this thing is terrible and noisy!" or "5 star awesome unit!" Rarely do people actually go into good detail with it (except with KitchenAid's and their broken racks).

That said, here's why we bought ours. It has a self cleaning food grinder. We plan on renting our place out rather than selling after we leave, so things like a food disposal are more tenant friendly. None of the Euro brands have a food disposal so keep that in mind when your friends brag about how quiet their unit is. It...

What Dishwasher to buy?
See my review of my previous dishwasher-----This time I researched "Customer Service" and weighed it most heavily in my decision to buy this LG. Stated simply, I didn't find any negative feedback concerning their customer service---check that out for yourself. Most owners of LG appliances praise their Customer Service. As far as the ratings of dishwashers what I found was that all makes and models have good and bad reviews----and that the all dishwasher makes and models have good and bad reviews as to their performance if not their customer service. I have friends that own LG appliances and heard nothing buy praise for the way LG handles customer service issues. So I bought this one with hi hopes. It was easy to install-did that myself---and the wife immediately got heavily involved----at first she thought the instructions were daunting---there are so many variables to control---light steam, heavy steam, combinations of ways to 'set' a cycle---like maybe you want to wash only...

Follow the instructions and you will be pleased!
This dishwasher is one amazing piece of equipment for the price. You will be please with this if the directions are followed to the letter. First make certain your running this on a dedicated circuit with a minimum of a 15amp breaker. Also check to make certain the wiring going to the washer is at least 14AWG most places you buy a washer from including Sears will give you the wrong one (16AWG). The 16AWG is simply too small to power all the functions simultaneously your dishwasher will have to run longer and you may overheat your wire if you do not have the correct size. If you do not understand this make sure you call an electrician to verify all is setup properly.

Make sure the unit is LEVEL as this will affect performance and make certain when it is installed that the drain hose is installed as instructed by the manual.

Also since this unit does not have the typical huge electric heater coil in the bottom of it you need to make sure your hot water you supply...

A luxury to own
Never thought there'd be a day when I thought an appliance as a luxury, but this dishwasher has been wonderful. Having three racks has been great. All that small little stuff--chopsticks, plastic ware lids, long spoons, water bottle lids--can just be thrown up in the third rack.

The dishwasher as a whole is extremely configurable. Racks can be adjusted by folding down prongs to accommodate big or small items. Lots of variety in settings, and has a countdown display so you can see when your cycle will end.

It's quiet to us--compared to our old dishwasher, and gets the dishes very clean without the pre-washing we had to do with our old dishwasher. We love it. When the little song plays at the end of the cycle, I do happy dance of clean, fresh dishes. Wish I had bought one sooner.

Worked, but a word of caution
Our Kitchenaid dishwasher started making an awful noise and we thought it might be the hard food disposer...but after a good bit of internet research turns out it was failed bearings on the drive motor. I didn't price it but a repairman plus parts would have been at least $350-400 to fix. The rest of dishwasher looked and worked well, so I thought I'd give it a stab for a $120 part.

I was able to replace the motor, but I had to use my old sump/pump because the one that came with this item does not fit Kitchenaid dishwashers, at least mine. Luckily the motor part did fit and I was able to complete the repair, and now the dishwasher sounds as good as new. Please make sure you check the part numbers closely before ordering. The equivalent kitchenaid part (combo motor/pump assembly) is part # W10237169. The big difference that I saw was the size of the thermistor port - it is smaller on the whirlpool part than the kitchenaid part. But it has to fit unless you want to get...

Perfect Fit
This product fit perfectly and was a very easy item to install contrary to what one might expect. In other words it is easier than it looks to fix yourself. If you purchase this entire assembly as opposed to just the Motor then it will be an easy drop-in repair. I have a Sears Kenmore and this part was identical to the six year old part that I had removed. Minimal tools required.

Like a new dishwasher
After 5 years, our dishwasher quit cleaning and drying as as well as it did when new. I was thinking I might have to start saving for a new one when I did some internet research regarding the problems I was having. I found that Whirlpool had designed a better heater kit and circuit board for it. After pulling the dishwasher out, replacing the heater and board and putting it all back together, alas - its like a new machine again. Thanks to Amazon and the tech help available, I was able to do it myself.

Perfect Replacement
I put this into a Kitchenaid machine whose heating element had physically broken after many years. The element arrived with some shipping damage (one contact of the element was bent), because it was sent in the wholesale box that was not designed for individual shipment. I was, fortunately, able to bend the contact back to the correct orientation without damage. The element was different in shape from the one in the machine (it had several straight sections, rather than being uniformly circular). I got reassurance from an online source that it would fit just fine, and that is how it turned out. Installed it myself, which was straightforward. Along with the element, you also are instructed to replace the control circuit board (located in the door) with the new one supplied with the element. Evidently, the new board has some revised programming That swap was easy. While the machine was clear of the cabinetry, I also took the opportunity to clear the strainer screens and traps,...

Perfect Fix for Old Kitchenaid
Our Kitchenaid dishwasher has been giving trouble for a couple of months (clean light blinks 7 times and you can't run a cycle until you reset the controller). Internet research indicated it was a likely heating element problem. That fit since it often wouldn't run the drying cycle at the end and the dishes would come out clean, but cold and damp. With a little more research, I figured out this was the correct replacement part. Originally thought of just replacing the heating element, but saw several postings saying the controller and element should be replaced together.

Replacement took a bit more than an hour. I ohmed out the heating element. Not clear it was bad. It had a resistance of 13.5 ohms; open or short indicate bad, from what I could read. But after I replaced the element and controller, it works like new. Maybe it was actually the controller that was bad.

Bosch will not honor warrantee
My Bosch dishwasher is 1.5 years old. The handle broke off. The parts are still under warrantee, but Bosch will not send me the free part unless I pay a $130 service fee.

Terrible dishwasher
Did a poor job of cleaning dishes. Rack configuration was inefficient. Stopped draining in less than a year. It was quiet though. Finally gave up on it and bought a new dishwasher.

Door pops open midcycle
Bought this dishwasher in 2009. Everytime I use the half-load or pots and pan cycle halfway through the cycle the door pops open. We have to hold door closed to empty machine and then wash dishes by hand. Then it has to be unplugged to reset. Maybe then it works, if not have to wash by hand. We thought plumber didn't install correctly so he has been back 3 times and Bosch repairman once. Today Bosch repairman notified us that "this is a known problem and a stiffener repair kit has to be installed in order for door to stay closed when tub heats up". So obviously Bosch is aware of the problem, but they continue to market and sell them without the consumers knowledge. I am very disappointed in the product and their service after the sale. Don't buy this dishwasher - you will have problems. I won't buy another Bosch product.

The googles, they do nothing!
We were promised that this Bosch dishwasher was not only quiet, but very good at cleaning. After we got it home and properly installed, I was impressed at how quiet the Bosch dishwasher really was. Sadly, I now know why the Bosh dishwasher is quiet: This Bosch dishwasher is quiet because it isn't getting anything clean! It didn't blast salad bits out of a salad bowl. Instead, it made them shiny and hard and with the uber heat cycle, doubtlessly sanitary as well. Chucks of rice resumed their former glory before they were boiled and goo left over from cutting a pie was left on a serving knife. Ewe. The new Bosch SHE43P22UC dishwasher didn't clean or dry dishes and its racks are such a bad design that I'm going to try and return it today and buy a different, not-Bosch dishwasher after two whole days of frustrating Bosch dishwasher ownership. If the shop won't take it back, this thing is going onto Craigs List.

More like Botch!
I could have written the exact same review as the previous reviewer. We HATE this dishwasher and are thinking of cutting bait and taking a complete loss on the $599 we paid for it. He was smart enough to take quick action. We've lived with the pain beyond the return period. To summarize his accurate review. 1) Doesn't clean. 2) Leaves food either in tiny gritty pieces all over dishes, or just leaves them intact. 3) Bakes food onto dishes with a cement-like force. 4) Utterly impossible racks, can't get anything into them. I would also add that the cycles are impossibly long and there is no drip-dry function.

When we try to clean out the useless filter, there is nothing in there (because it's all over the plates!), or there is food clogging the jets that is impossible to get out. I had to reconfigure a paperclip to remove tiny pieces of food that had clogged all the jets. We feel too guilty putting this onto Craigslist and leaving this problem for someone else to get screwed...

We looked at quite a few dishwashers and wanted one with a stainless interior and an angled top basket. The angled top basket is a great feature and gives you quite a bit of flexibility in loading plastic stuff that may not normally fit in a standard basket.
I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post our purchase place and price but it was a couple hundred cheaper locally than they are currently being sold on here in the marketplace.

I read the reviews here and, while discouraging, I more or less dismissed them because I suspected that the review pool suffered from selection bias. I do NOT mean to dismiss or trivialize the other reviewers experiences. I believe that they have indeed had bad experiences with their purchases and that is certainly regrettable. My experience has been great, and I'm glad I bought it.

HORRIBLE WORST EVER!!
We bought this in July, 2010 and promptly went on an extended vacation. When we returned home, it was past 30 days until we finally got to use it. Lo and behold it is the WORST dishwasher EVER!!!!! We bought it from Best Buy after explaining that we have teenagers who don't rinse the dishes and do a lousy job of loading. We were pointed toward this one. I did some research with Consumer Reports, and everything seemed to back up the Best Buy person's recommendation --- WRONG!!!! We've had this dishwasher for 7 months now, and I'm anxious to replace it. I have to use 3-4 times the amount of detergent to even HOPE to get dishes clean, run it through sometimes 5 cycles before they get somewhat clean, or just give up and hand wash the dishes. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF TRASH!!!! Samsung should be ashamed. Samsung sent out a repair person, but no luck. Worst Dishwasher Ever
I purchased this dishwasher for $150 more than the one I was originally considering because I thought that (a) Samsung makes good products, (b) the features offered were good for the money, and (c) you get what you pay for right? We couldn't have been more wrong. This dishwasher first of all, has a controls problem. My wife regularly leans up against the counter. With the fancy curved top area, the buttons extended just beyond the counter's edge, and she shuts it off on a regular basis. That's a wife problem yes, but still a problem that we didn't have with more recessed or touch-pad models. If that was our only problem, we'd consider it still a decent purchase. The fact that this washer has problems washing, rinsing, and otherwise making your dishes safe for use (i.e. no caustic soap left over in glasses, etc.) has made it the biggest money sink I've ever had the displeasure of investing in. GE SERVICE Horrible - I would never buy a GE Product again
I have a defective GE Dishwasher that is under warrantee just bought it- leaks water out of side panels. Dishwasher is sitting in my garage. GE Service will NOT send a technician until the Dishwasher is hooked up - so water goes all over my kitchen? GE service agrees the washer is under warrantee but will not replace it until one of their technicians inspects the dishwasher hooked up? I explained my situation on 3 occations (one day) to service department suggesting that I really don't want water all over my kitchen just to satisfy one of their technicians that it leaks? You can see the idiocy of the issue as I ask for "supervisors" or someone rational to speak with I then get sent to "customer advocacy" which is part of customer service. Well after another hour they truely don't advocate for any customer convenience. Service is horrible reminds me of Sears.

Our 6 year old Frigidaire dishwasher caught fire last week. Luckily we were able to put the fire out before it spread to the rest of the kitchen. My kids were home. Their lives were in danger.

The worst part is that Frigidaire won't send a technician out to see what caused the fire unless we pay for it. That's right, Frigidaire is not interested in know why the fire started or if it is preventable in the future.

I have a hard time putting into words how disgusted I am with Frigidaire as a company. Please do not buy their products if you value the safety of your family.

Stay away from this brand. The first 2 I received did not work, The third one did but things are starting to break. Customer Service is a night mare. I have been trying to get a part under warranty for over a month now and keep on getting the run around. Oh and did I mention this dishwasher is under a year old. My advice is stay away from this brand. My next dishwasher will be a Sears Kenmore as I had in the past. They run for a good 10 years and never had any major problems with them. This is just my experience with this brand and I will never buy this product again.

Good dishwasher, but buttons fade away after one month, no repair service
I have used this product for one month. The dishwasher is great. The only problem I have is that the black circles engraved on the control panel indicating where the buttons (such as Power, Rinse...) are start fading away. Since the buttons are touch buttons, without the black circles, I will not be able to find where the buttons are.

Update: after 9 months, Samsung's repair person came to change the front panel. I was told that the new panel had a clear coat to prevent the black ink from fading away. Two weeks later, black circles began coming off again. I called Samsung for repair again. This time, they gave me the phone number of a repair center that is non-existence. When I called again, I was told to check on Whitepages for the correct phone number (which I did - the company is nowhere to be found). Do not purchase this Samsung dishwasher, unless you want a hassle. Read on for the gory details.

When we were first looking at this dishwasher, there wasn't alot of information in the way of user reviews to go by. It was a mixed bag, but ultimately the worst complaint was that many people didn't like the sensitivity of the buttons. Given this, plus the fact that most reviews had people really liking the dishwasher, we decided to give it a try. It seemed like a very good price for all the features that were included with the dishwasher.

At first the dishwasher was great. It cleaned well, was extremely quiet, slick-looking, and was seemingly a great deal for the price we paid for so many features. As many reviews have mentioned, the buttons are very sensitive unless the child lock is on. I have no problem with this, because the child lock eliminates the sensitivity adequately.

After a couple of months though, the ink on the buttons started to wear...

The worst service experience....
Did you know that Samsung has a Sales Prevention Team working in their organization? It is their customer service group! This organization must be so bad that their own Authorized Service Providers do not speak highly of your brand. Many have stopped performing warranty service on Samsung. After three different, successively worse, service encounters from Samsung, we will not purchase anything from Samsung. Initial sticker price may be less than GE or Maytag, but it's not worth the hassle over the life of the appliance.

First diashwasher was dead-on-arrival, second one is working fine so far... and yes, the buttons do rub off very easily! After one week of placing a service ticket to fix it- I am waiting for someone to comeout and relace the front panel.

Doesn't work
We have had one of these in two of our apartments, it must just be the cheapest model on the market. At first I thought it was broken, even if the dishes were almost completely clean when loaded it just distributed some of the crud, didn't remove anything, and left the dishes dirtier then when they were loaded. After having maintenance look at it a few times and checking the drain myself the issue was never solved. Then when I moved to a different apartment I was disappointed to find they had the same model, and it does the same thing. So it isn't that it was broken or that the water was bad or anything like that. Don't get this to save money, it doesn't work. You will end up hand washing so you're just as well off with no dishwasher.

best product for greedy landlords

Cleans OK, couple of glitches
My 14 year old VERY reliable Whirlpool dishwasher bit the dust. Replaced with this model. It cleans ok - quiet, but washing cycles are long - about 2 hr, even for "light" wash. You MUST use the rinse aid, or dishes and the actual inside of the dishwasher do not dry. Beaded moisture everywhere. This certainly was not the case with my old washer. The most annoying thing is that occasionally (like once every 6 washes) the soap dispenser door does not open for the entire cycle. So you open it up and your dishes have been bathed in hot water only (plus rinse aid, of course) for the entire cycle. Maybe the door opens the next time you use the washer, but you have to run the whole cycle again. I need to contact the manufacturer about this, but have not done so yet. Overall I would say this product is ok, not great. I've had it about 2 months.

This dishwasher only get dishes clean 50% of the time even if you pre-rinse. Guess you need to pre-wash! They also NEVER come out dry. I have to wait for the cycle to end and open the washer to air dry the rest of the day. Hardly a modern convenience.

Best dishwasher we've owned
We've had this unit for about a month now. What's not to like about it? It's quiet for one. You can use as little as 1 tbsp of detergent per load and the dishes come out sparkling clean. The cycle time is significantly shorter than the Maytag it replaced. It appears to be ruggedly built like I would expect from a product with the Bosch name. Also, this is the consumer reports top rated dishwasher. I can see why. Thumbs up!!

DO NOT purchase this Samsung!!! Epic FAIL!
Purchased in 6/11, by 11/11 we had to request service and it was repaired (2 weeks later!) and the technician told us we used too much detergent (we used cascade complete tablets) so we started using a gel (which left everything slimy) so we used a granular detergent but only 1 tsp as the tech recommended. Still not satisfied with the cleanliness of the dishes(I prewash them too!), the machine SMELLS and has to be wiped out after every use at the door to keep the odor at bay and now 3 months after the first repair we are getting the same error code!!! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS MACHINE!!!!

6 months old quit working, never worked well
This dishwasher replaced a work horse that started to make scary noises after 8 years. The Samsung never did get the dishes clean, I ended up with dried up food particles redeposited onto the glasses on the top rack. The rinse only quick cycle is 81 minutes long! My old machine ran a full fledged wash cycle in that time. After 6 months it flat quit working. It threw a drain error code, service call and new part then threw a high water level code, another service call and new part then threw a low water level code. 3rd service call and TWO more parts it still wouldn't run. Samsung tech line had no suggestions for the service tech at this time! 1 month without it, missed work days, they replaced a control board, new float assembly (whatever it's called), float control switch and drain pump there was nothing left to replace! We were continually bumping the buttons on the front as they protrude and we like to hang out in the kitchen. The fan dry (no heat dry) while a good concept...

Leaves food particles on glasses
Even after following all the tips in the troulbe shooting manual we still have food particles left on our glasses. The lack of a heated dry is also a definite down side. Does this Energy Star appliance really save energy if you have to run it twice just to get the dishes clean? This thing reminds me of the early low flow toilets that had to be flushed multiple times. I've bought lots of Samsung products and have been happy with everything but this lousy dishwasher.
